casters are possible and viable at low SL, they peak at about 60, after that they slowly get a bit worse, because they can still make use of a few levels in endurance, vigor & attunement.
This peaks at about 80-90, where you get enough att, enough end & enough vgr. Beyond that, you get much worse pretty fast

At 120 it's impossible to make a pure one tree caster and you're left with two options
A caster that uses all trees, with crystal chime
A spellsword that gets 40 in dex or str & uses buffs alongside spells

I speculated that the profaned flame was a ditched idea but still had some semblence of importance to the main story. It was an abyss flame that granted the society riches, power and knowledge in a Age of Fire and it made the First Flame irrelevant. You can see all the gold and mimics there near Yhorm's arena with burnt corpses and all the jailers are staring at the flame+gold instead of you. The inhabitants there are full of desires, full of want and Yhorm tried to put it out despite his people's protest because they were too indulged in the prosperity the abyss granted and he saw that as heresy. Further proof is that the White faced Preachers also drop Pale Pine Resin, an item you can get when you're at the dungeon. I don't know how the imperfect dragons and preachers are related but for both of them to act similarly and aesthetically similar, I don't think it's a coincidence and the resin has a bit of blood on it might just be their blood resin.

It's a little ridiculous how gimped int/fth are midgame compared to str/dex.

I just made a dedicated STR char and all it took was SL40 to grab the BKGS and make most of the game trivial. And I can pump all my souls from now in end and vig to become virtually immortal by the level of content I'm doing at that point.

Elite Knight legging go well with loads of things, and carry a rustic charm to them. Plus, when paired with a non-metal chest piece, like say Wanderers or the Black Hand chest, the skirt of plates around the waist can give the impression of wearing an actual coat of plates underneath the coat.

It hardly matters to most, but these trivial details can really make or break a getup.

Too late now, but for future reference, if you want to farm drops, the Agape Ring is a must if you don't want to bloat your SM. Also, you can farm drops off of being summoned into other worlds.

Not as much as you'd think, actually. It depends on if it's been properly fitted to your dimensions or not. If it is properly fitted, you won't feel like it's "sitting" on you, and thus the metal band securing the lower half would snugly fit beyond the range of motion of your foot.

Any discomfort, if any, wouldn't feel like much of a tradeoff when your other option is to get your thighs/groin slashed/stabbed, I feel. Ultimately it doesn't matter much when the PC regularly dislocates his entire body and can point-roll 50 times in a row in metal armor on (typically) solid stone and be, at worst, mildly winded for 2 seconds.

That's the problem. From the looks of it, metal band is pretty closely fitted, and because it's not anatomically shaped, it will cause a lot of discomfort or even pain to your ankles, while restricting your mobility. Getting your legs slashed is not nice, that's for sure, but proper movement is important too. If only we had proper greaves, like pic related. Oh well
