Shoot at hist front left leg for the stagger.
climb and destroy the small nests. When he shakes you off, aim at the other leg. You can also use pierce, but its hard to aim because the movement makes the hitboxes become wonky and your shot ends being way too high usually.

When destroy the small nodes, enter the mouth and hit his big node.
You can finish that off with pierce. From the front when not inside it.

When he brings his metal gear again you do the same, but don't forget to use the antidragon bombs on the big node inside the mouth.
A few pierce shots to it should finish it off.

Oh and forget about using normal if not shooting the nodes at point blank, besides the wonky hitbox when moving, your shots will hit the walls even when you're firing inside the "neck" of the robot, so your shots won't reach the big node. I recommend using normal/pellet/whatever on the feet, and pierce on the nodes (unless you shoot at pointblank)

Anyone here experienced with P3rd?

Ive kinda hit a brick wall with it. I just cant seem to do a decent level of damage to keep up with some of the quests anymore. I can survive o.k but cant seem to kill some of the monsters before the time runs out.

I'm currently doing the HR3 guild quests which are still doable but i'm really close to the time limit on the quests with multiple large monsters.

Ive done all the village quests except the very last one (deviljho, tigrex & nargacuga), After a lot of tries I can kill deviljho, but only usually have 10 mins remaining to kill tigrex & narga, which is impossible currently. Is it too early to bother with this quest yet?

Am i missing something upgrade wise?

i'm doing blademaster maining GS (carbalite sword, 195 attack, the highest raw damage sword I can currently upgrade to) using pumpkin armor, with active skills focus, medium attack up, trapmaster & item use up. I have a lot of shitty talismans & havent found a decent one. Also using demondrug & mega demondrug on almost every quest.

any ideas on what to improve? should i farm diablos for a critdraw skill armor set or go for jhen mohran armor? any way to get a decent talisman before high rank? any ideas anything i can do to improve my setup?

In MH4U, I did all the rank 6 caravan quests, yet the post-it has a silver star, not gold, and there are 2 urgent quests that just stay there instead of being filed into a rank. How come?

Just did a quick test and apparently it does. I used only GS draw slashes on HR village rathian's head. No affinity or sharpness drops.

Without partbreaker, it took 3 draw slashes to stagger her head. With partbreaker, it took only 2, and that's before and after her head broke. I'm gonna try a few more things to make sure, but that's pretty cool.

thanks, is there a LR armor set with both though? diablos armor has crit draw, pumpkin & jhen armor have focus but i cant find any set with both skills. I cant seem to make crit draw 2 decorations (not sure if they exist even) & dont have enough slots to use crit draw 1 decorations to gain the active skill. Is there a crit draw talisman in LR i should be farming for?

It means you've dealt KO damage, nya!
Meowst sources of Impact-type damage deal Exhaust damage, which also deals KO damage when dealt to the head! If you apply enough KO damage to the meownster, you'll knock it unconscious for (on average) 10 seconds, allowing you to land extra purr-ttacks!

Daora/Zin for pierce 1 crouch spam. Nerscylla and Mizu can shoot all three levels of pierce without recoil reduction, with the former able to crouch pierce 2. But pierce 2 is still the worst of the three...
Diablos is another pierce 1 crouch fire option, but you can't go the crit boost route.

I feel like I may have understated the value of Shot Booster, so I just want to reiterate that your set should be, in order:
1. Recoil Down as necessary (usually unnecessary in XX)
2. Shot Booster as necessary (considered a core skill in XX)
3. Pierce Up (considered a core skill universally)
4->7. As many synergistic damage increasing skills as possible. In XX, that usually means a bunch of Affinity and Crit Boost. WE is the best points for value, RO isn't far behind, Critical Eye+3 > Challenger+2 > CE+2 > C+1 > CE+1.

A friend bought me a 3DS specifically so we could play together, but he's not my friend anymore and I have no other friends.
I'm early G rank and the servers are full of people way outclassing me and/or retarded frenchies all day every day and I'm not moving anywhere. It hurts all the more that I want to main gunner and you can't really do that solo.

Have you not used gunner recently? I just made a rarity 10 HBG and tested it on a level 4 rathalos just for the fuck of it. I was blasting it nonstop, it couldn't even move because it was flinching and getting knocked out of the sky, yet the quest still took 15 fucking minutes. I would've ran out of time if it was a level 8 rathalos or so.

Okay, some combination of the following is occurring: you're overestimating how frequently you're flinching, you're hitting body parts with low shot hitzones that also have low stagger thresholds so it looks like you're doing more damage than you actually are, or you're fighting a Rathalos with an absolutely freakish amount of health.

slicing 2 builds brave faster than any other ammo. you can enter brave in 1 less reload than slicing 1 on the daora hbg would take. because brachydios dies so quickly, it is more advantageous to enter brave quicker than to have an extra 10 raw

if you are doing the event in a haphazard, uncoordinated group, zinogre hbg loads para 1 and 2, and sieges para 2. paralysis is extremely useful in bursting down brachydios in a timely manner. this is irrelevant if you're doing it with a coordinated hame group though

aside from that, the zinogre hbg also has 2 slots compared to daora's 1. depending on the charms you have, you might be able to fit a skill on your set with the zinogre hbg that you couldn't with daora. using only a pierce +3 OOO charm, you can make a set with crit eye+2, pierce up, weakness exploit, crit boost and resentment, which is pretty much the best dps you can squeeze outside of god charms. the same set requires a +5 tenderizer OOO or +6 furor OOO charm if you want to use daora, which only has 1 slot
