To be fair, if you're using gix a lot of the things that would be standard playstyle (ie. not dodging and facetanking, fornis or no fornis because you have automate) you suddenly can't do because you'll shit on your own damage output. I didn't realize that the difference between 14% and 20% was 3.8 and not actually 6. The base atk adds another 1-2% since TDs are a low base atk weapon. Needing to dodge 1-3 times per arm phase and for one single attack in the final phase is not going to hurt enough that all of your attacks doing 7-8% more damage isn't better than fornis.

That's what I was talking about at the end there. You already have to chase Mother around when she repositions so you can use Wild Rhapsody - 0 to gap close + block the claw swipe. The only thing you really have to dodge is that aoe she does in the center with lasers.

While I see where you're coming from about phrase weak, I think it's a bit unfair to assume it doesn't exist outside fornis. Gix wasn't dethroned by Zeinesis and phrase weak is worth reaffixing for. I don't mean to come off as aggressive if you're reading it that way, I just disagree with you.

The difference is so miniscule it doesn't really make a visible difference, and I find quick march is mostly detrimental to use on a lot of targets repeatedly because the height change moves you out of range for orchestra to actually connect with any hits. Wild rhapsody allows for much easier repositioning compared to quick march or spin dodge (since that will drop your taja when the enemy has only moved a tad), and keeps you on the vertical positioning meaning you can cycle more efficiently instead of having to drop height to be able to reconnect with orchestra with quick march.

honestly, how well you can do depends on what kind of factors you have lying around. astral soul is a prime example. the higher slot you go, the more prudent it is to use the astral soul factor. 5-6s? dont bother. 7s+? do bother. phrase weak, sentence x, noble/elegant y, stat5, etc.

No, there's an affix from the ep4 bosses called factors. +10 atk for two types, +20 for the third type, +1PP and +20 HP. Mother, Deus Esca and Yamato all drop a different one with a corresponding atk focus. Besides using it for the actual affix, there's a new affix that's similar to astral soul called Ether Factor which needs all three factors. Since Yamato is almost never scheduled any more, its factor is worth a lot right now.
