I find it hard to believe he's a "descendant" of Archdragons since all dragon descendants have ended up being pitifully weak compared to true dragons, and Midir is arguably the toughest dragon boss of the franchise, much more so than Kalameet (whom Anor Londo feared) and Sinh.

They Heysel pick is literally the only good PVP casting implement, when you're fighting someone as a caster all they want to do is roll into you and hurt you, use the pick to catch their roll.

It's nothing to do with the lightning damage, they're doing the scaling numbers on a per-weapon basis and somebody just put in a crazy high number for the LKGS, that's all. It's like Exile GS previously having huge damage when sharp for no reason, followed by it getting huge damage when Heavy for no reason.

Scimitar is interesting as an offhand for Dex/Faith because when Blessed it's basically getting the same damage it would have as Sharp or Refined in a physical build. Minus the ability to buff it.

It's possible that there's a difference in what constitutes a genuine dragon, and various derivatives. After all, the Stormdrake is specifically cited as that, a drake. So the terminology (Dragon, Wyvern, Drake) may have different connotations.
It comes down to semantics, really.

IIRC, JSF once cited that in the Japanese text for DaS2, the Dragon Rider is implied to have once ridden a "Wyvern" or "Flying Dragon", and these are almost certainly the types of dragons the Lothric Knights were allied with.

Nevertheless, there's a lot more evidence suggesting that proper dragons do not have Souls, but can acquire them through certain means. The Gaping Dragon is specifically referred to as having once been an ordinary dragon, before its upper body transformed. The Stormdrake is likely not an ordinary dragon, but a derivative creature. Compare its body to almost every other dragon we meet.

It's also possible (but idk about this) that Midir had a bequeathed Soul, a sort of symbol that he was in Lordran's employ, that was corrupted by all the Humanity he gorged on.

The Ringed City is a welcome addition. It falls short in one particular area and could have been longer, but it is generally a very good DLC, and although it doesn't help smooth out Dark Souls 3's shitty as fuck lore (I mean DS3 in particular is a terrible game) it manages to stand above the base game as a more pleasant experience worth going through as a Dark Souls fan, because it's doing its own thing and it's doing it well.

Wise of PvP there are still a lot of Gank Squads.
The Dark Sword meta is a thing of the past, but we're currently in a heavy weapon/hyper armor kind of meta that really messed up how you can play. Since those builds are built for trading, they tend to play passively, but if you attack first you're going to get fucked up, but you can't just be MORE passive, that won't work.

Faith is good. Pyromancy is about the same (good), Sorcery however, is not. It's gimmicky and only useful for one shots.

if you're using a midshield your parry won't come out fast enough
if you're trying to do it to greatswords it doesn't work; they're slower but they apply more hitstun, so you can't parry out of stunlock. A lot of people assume that you can just because it's slower, but you can't.

Some anon said that the recent caestus nerf gave it midshield frames, but I don't really think so. It does have vulnerability frames at the end though where you take extra damage for messing up. A small shield should still get the job done if the frames were nerfed though.

I don't know if I should be using the word lore or if I should be using the word narrative. But the game tells a less cohesive and engaging story than even Dark Souls 2 with its cycle shit.

On the whole Dark Souls 3's overarching story feels tragically abridged. We have hardly any focus on Lothric or the Profaned Capital, the only new and interesting areas in the game. This is especially egregious in the case of Lothric since that's where the game is set. We hardly spend any time there at all before the game is just over, and we can barely even understand some of the coolest aspects of it, such as the Dragonslayer Armor and the Twin Princes.

There aren't any characters worth being interested in, and not a single one has a tangible character arc. It doesn't feel like they're developing at all. With the possible exception of Orbeck, which isn't really character development, it's a guy deciding that hey, you're pretty darn cool. Anri outright says she doesn't develop when she says she never could have beaten Aldrich without you.

Aldrich and the Cathedral of the Deep are cool additions to the lore, but they're tragically unexplored and Aldrich himself sort of ruins him by being underwhelming as all hell.

The Profaned Capital is short as all hell, and its eponymous flame is never explored or explained.

That's 3 things Dark Souls 3 introduces that it fails to capitalize on. And I'm not even getting started.

66str Ledo's is a great thing to use against other Str weapons but actually gets picked apart rather easily by quicker weapons, like most greathammers. The great mace and Vordt's are still pretty fun though; weather or not the mace is better depends on if you're using resin on it or not. Webm related is at 40 str.

Exile CGS and the splitleaf halberd do insane damage at 66 str. Splitleaf matches gundy's 66 str AR while only at 30 str, because you gotta get people to buy that DLC somehow. Gael's GS is also ridiculous, but it's a 40/40 weapon.

Really anything faster than a greathammer is going to at least be pretty good, and greathammers are at least fun and good counterpicks.

Very very fast cast that is damn near impossible to punish. Hits really hard. Mine regularly hits for over 400 damage on full hit.

Very very hard to avoid once you learn about angles. If you just look straight at them its really easy to avoid but if you turn slightly it hits almost every time. And it pairs well with a long sword r1s to roll catch if they try acting like a fucking goon and just running/ rolling at you.

Yep, just find the game to be terribly boring until you get to Drangleic Castle, and most of the bosses were incredibly easy for me (aside from a couple of the DLC bosses).

I think it's a good game overall, but once DaS3 came out I didn't feel any desire to go back to it like I did with DaS1 and Bloodborne, aside from dicking around a little bit.

It's also really good but magic shield gives you a flat stability addition and an absorption addition which scales with how far away you are from 100% absorption (it gets smaller the closer you are, preventing you from ever hitting 100% on anything which wasn't allready 100%). Magic shield is more significant on smaller shields than larger ones. But by all means though, use wolf, I'm sure as fucking hell not suggesting against it. And with the moaning shield you'll hit 100 stability and not lose stamina while blocking if you throw magic shield on.
