Even in dump the lewd is pretty hushed, you wouldn't even know anyone is erping until you start learning what long lapsits/sitting together mean, or being in some obscure zone for hours, which is about the same as it is for MT. /terag/ is a horrible representation of lewd in Tera.

I mean I'm not saying all lapsitting is ERP, I'm a lapsitter and I can tell you I'm quite pure, but after a while you know ERP when you see it, and a lot of sitting together/lapsitting is ERP.

Of course when I say this, again it comes from context and experience, you can't just look at an elin in someone's lap and say they're ERPing but if you know the elin is an ERPer or a likely one and they've been sitting in the same spot for 4 hours, yeah. When day after day you log in to the same people facing each other while idle you can guess they're not necessarily 'idle'.

Okay I just got this game, and the gameplay is actually pretty fun for an MMO. What's the catch?

The catch is that there's very little content stretched over very long periods of time and then recycled on top of that with dungeons deemed unnecessary removed each cycle, just adding to the limit of possible content you can do.

The combat is very fun and the bosses at endgame become quite challenging and interesting, but the basic routine of new players is to either burn out very quickly and quit for something with more content, or accept the sad reality that MMOs are a dying genre and Tera in it's beaten and abused state may still be one of the best choices, and just buckle in for the long ride of doing the same few dungeons every day as long as you get to spend time with friends who will unfortunately wither away as Tera slowly becomes unplayably boring for them and other games catch their attention.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. There's very limited amount of hairstyles and colors, unless you mean copying literally all your sliders I'd say it's just the limitations of the character creation
