Have you even used Brave?. Brave doesn't give you "dodge n' prize" mechanics. It blocks stuff from the front, and you still take damage. But yeah, it depends on the weapon too.

Brave HBG is risky as fuck if you are spamming siege mode, as you can't go into the sheathing animation until you roll out of siege.

I've been using some elemental weapons for SnS, DBs and IG, but most of them hover around 280-310 raw but easily get over 50 element with the exception of DBs which is around the 40s mark.

Fast weapons hit a lot and therefore deal a lot of element damage.
Really you should do the math yourself. Pick a hitzone and calculate how much the main combo of a weapon deals with element procs.
Here's a template:

Also on these weapon pure raw was never best in any situation, blast was.

Either way, Internal Elemental shots are pretty monstrous. You're going to want [Element] Attack+2 for sure, and Bonus Shot if you're using rapid fire. True Shot Up is mandatory for Internal ammo builds, Element Attack Up is a strong choice but may be hard to fit on.
Ammo Saver is situationally strong. It's unreliable though.
Beyond that, generic raw increasing skills are the way to go. Peak Performance, Resuscitate, Attack Up [X].
If this is XX, you might be able to squeeze on enough skills to do something like
True Shot Up
[Element] Attack+2
Element Attack Up
Weakness Exploit
Elemental Crit
Challenger+2
Which I think ends up being pretty much the best for non-RF elemental shots, so long as the elemental weakspot is 45 shot or above.

In general you're looking for Raw > Internal Ammo count > utility.
