Do better next time. This was a major Luma revision and I'm sure you can spare a word or two for what the hell changed and why people should get it.
>>
>>174319254
Not him, but all YOU did was taking away information and adding confusing shit like "cucks NTR" (we got like 5 posts asking what you meant with everyone getting their hopes up in the other thread) and bringing back the "this is going to take a while" and "this is going to get patched soon" bits. Honestly, it doesn't even look like you read the threads or care about the scene developments anymore and just do this to satisfy your autism. Also, if you really want to talk about pointless additional information getting removed, you did exactly that in the PSV section.

It's always possible a Luma update does a better job of spoofing Friend List and whatever else. There's almost never a downside to updating a well maintained cfw branch.

You didn't actually need xorpad files and ncchinfo.bin to begin with. Stop reading guides from 3 years ago.

PSNDL
>>
>>174317485
Why
>>
>>174323071
>just the ROMFS file decrypted with the title ID
It's been like that for a long while. The new thing is that you don't need an entire romfs file, if you want you can do it like in LayeredFS that allows you to have extracted files and you don't need all of them.
>>
>>174322931
3k.
>>
>>174323353
I've been using the NTR LayeredFS method since I want them to work natively and always had to have everything extracted on top of a plugin file so this is nice.

Is anyone even providing just the translated files for anything? It seems like everyone just hands you either a patch for the decrypted romfs, the romfs but translated, or a cia file, not just the translated stuff.

Having a bit of an issue with translation patches and Luma.

I want to get the Taiko no Tatsujin Mystery Adventure translation patch to work. I've put the romfs in the /luma/titles/<titleid> folder simply titled "romfs" with no extension as told to and have the locale.txt as JPN JP. I have the translated 1.1 English update installed so that should be causing no issues, however, when I load up the game it's English only on the Don, Kan, DRUM, and character titles, nothing more. It seems like as soon as it loaded the addition DLC or update it completely broke the translation patch since everything but story mode should be translated. Any ideas?

>Too bad you can't just put the mp3 on the vita through ftp/whatever else, rather than having to fuck around with CMA and all that.
Is there a particular reason that you can't? We can access the memory card via USB mass storage now with latest VitaShell.

I looked at most of the edit songs and I'm just not autistic enough to fool with them. I like some challenge, but they don't even try to replicate the style of the game, they just try to make shit as hard as they possibly can.

The LUVATORRRY one looked kinda fun I guess.

I'm not sure exactly why, and I spent a good 8 hours trying to figure it out, but my PSTV (and, I assume, other Vitas) won't recognize that the music exists in its music folder unless it's transferred through CMA. You can play them in Vitashell, but not through the Vita's music app, and the Project Diva games won't see them at all unless you do it they way they want it. It's really dumb.
A lot of the edits are very hard, for the purpose of being really fucking hard. They generally look cool, but would kill a normal person's thumbs, hands, wrists, etc. (Check out a video of someone playing Boku Boku. Shit's insane.) That being said, there are some that aren't quite as awful, but they are generally few and far between. But even some of the harder songs are somewhat completable, even for me who can hardly Standard Intense Voice Extreme. (I still prefer how it was in the PSP games.) There's a reddit out there with a listing of the top 100 edit songs from F2nd from about a year ago, including mp3 downloads and a review of each chart, which made weeding out some of the chaff easy.
I think I have a luvoratory edit, although there's like 20 out there, of varying qualities.

>Is there a particular reason that you can't? We can access the memory card via USB mass storage now with latest VitaShell.
Well, you can with some fuckery.
That involves some SQLite editing. When transferring files over with CMA, the software adds those files into folders inside of either ux0:{music,picture,video} and changes the database located at ux0:mms/{music,photo,video}.
So, if you were to transfer your stuff and edit the datbase accordingly, it _should_ work just fine.
TheFlow hasn't been able to reverse the module that exports the other media completely (VitaShell is only able to export photos thus far).
>>
>>174342317
Oh, is that how they do it? Tricky buggers. I figured the folders didn't matter, even if copied and pasted just right, but I didn't figure there was a database involved. I wonder if copying that and the music folders would make it work on a usb drive. It sure as heck didn't want to transfer to it with CMA when I first tried.

Its not even about games, Im actually curious about how the hacking will work anyway. Can you believe that I hacked my 3DS almost solely because I wanted to see for myself how it goes?

Oh, geez, 2D Dream Fever. I've just only not failed out, but I'm quite a ways off from getting a Standard. So flashy and quick. I need to warm up quite a bit and see the chart a bit first. I can still get a Standard or better on some of the edits, but not all that many. Try out the edit of Ten Thousand Stars, it's a fun one to play and get a good score on. Also An Alien's I Love You is a nice cute song that isn't all that hard. There's a few others that aren't too bad, and a lot where you just have to git gud and fail a lot to pass. Or just memorize the order of the notes (like Boku Boku).

My advice for 2D Dream Fever is practice drumming the d-pad and face buttons. When the tempo picks up on the second verse, that's the only way I can keep up. Beyond that you pretty much need to memorize the song. It sucks but it's really satisfying when you nail it because of how hard it is.

It doesn't help that the background PV is trying to give you a seizure the whole time.
>>
>>174343482

It is, actually. Slight traces of usage, like usual, but shop gets only good condition consoles.

>>
>>174346674
Yeah, I've always been a bit weak on two-handing stuff, especially when there's a lot of note-changing going on. Nevermind when the background makes it so hard to see the notes. More tries it is.
If you want to see seizures, you should try watching somebody play 'The Fools are Attracted to Anomaly - 2014 mix' It's insane. The normal version of the song's PV is bad enough, but the 2014 mix's PV is even more color-flashing. Song's pretty good, though, and I bet it's satisfying to beat, although I won't be able to for several eons.

PS1 - I was literally raised into piracy
PS2 - happened to have the game needed
PSP - we all know how that turned out (used this the most)
DS - flashcart was like $8
3DS - got the console free so why not
Vita - Just because I liked the PSP, I went for it
>>
oh wow, MHP3rd HD actually works now on Adrenaline and it looks pretty much the same, what a disappointment.

DS - knockoff acekard for $7

If you have a memory card in it, just mount the usb device (formatted to Fat32 or exFat) as uma0 (hit triangle on the root directory), copy the contents of ux0, and paste them into uma0, after which you can then go mount usb as ux0.
Note that the PSTV doesn't much like having transferred media on something not their card (or not transferred through CMA), so if you do have music or movies that you want to listen to/watch outside of vitashell, you may want to keep the memory card around.

How well does Moonlight/PC streaming to Vita work?
I never bothered with Stardwe Valley because it's not on a handheld for maximum comfy but for some reason I forgot that I could use remote play

>>174340178
The thing with vocaloids is that once you start one game, you will play all games.
You will never stop.
You will buy vocaloids (figurines).
You will get a better job to get more vocaloids.
You will work hard to get promotions so that you can buy a house for more rooms for your vocaloids and also buy more vocaloids
>>

>>
>>174371080
Oh, trust me, I've taken several steps down that road. Only games I don't have the ability to play are the arcade ones/the ps4 ports of them. I have a couple of blind bag keychain mikus, but sadly they were both the same one despite being bought in different years. I haven't quite looked out to get any larger more legit figures yet. I also, despite half the games I play telling me to work hard, seem to have not absorbed that particular bit. So...
As for Moonlight, I tried it late last year, and it seemed to work fairly well. You'll want to make sure there's a strong network connection, of course, and I'm sure several kinks have been straightened out since I last tried, so give it a go. No guarantees on framerate, but I can't imagine Stardew Valley being all that hard on your resources.

vita is popular with young adults but 3DS manages to outsell it because there are a ton of younger kids that want pokemon, yokai watch, monster hunter, dragon quest, and so on.
>>
>>174381709
That, and there's a difference in culture in which handhelds are a thing more people play with there than consoles, whereas here, you could carry a 3ds around all day in a busy area and not get a single streetpass. I don't even know when the last time I saw somebody who owned a Vita, let along had it with them, was.
>>
>>174379725

Is anyone familiar with the fact that some LED backlights have headache inducing refresh rates? I was seriously wondering if any Sony handheld does not have that problem. I've noticed just in YouTube videos that most do not have constant backlights, causing various bars and strobing to appear depending on the camera. The 3DS and Wii U GamePad actually do not use that method of dimming and provide constant light. It is just easier on battery life and a cheaper method of dimming if you allow the led to pulse.

So does anyone have any knoledge of a Vita or PSP which bucked this trend, because I would like to get one.

I have no idea what you're talking about but my PSP and Vita looks fine in real life. Gives me no headaches. My OLED Vita is a bit too bright even on the lowest brightness setting but luckily there's a homebrew plugin to turn down the brightness even further.
>>
>>174384569
Persona games aren't 100 hours long. On average your first playthrough will take like 50-60 hours depending on how fast you read text, if you do optional stuff, and so on. They go even faster if you skip through stuff. Only way to reach 100+ hours is if you do NG+ or try to platinum the game.
>>
>>174384685
I know they look fine to most people, it's just something I'm sensitive to personally. It requires me to be careful with my monitor or tv purchases. It's called PWM, and it actually flickers the LED at a high frequency. It seems to me most Sony products have this, but I'm hoping there maybe exceptions.
>>
>>174384817
never heard of PWM as a condition and google just turns up pulse width voltage stuff. anyways that sucks and hope you find a solution to your problem.
>>
>>174385437
Pulse width modulation is just an electronic term for controlling an LED refresh rate in this case.

They're all mostly clones of each other, some are more reliable than others at getting the job done. You won't find an original R4 for the DS (The spring loaded one) unless you get really lucky, and that spring breaks really easily.

Just installed the Taiko no Tatsujin translation patches (except the first one, idk if it even exists) through Luma layeredfs while diffing the folders so only the actually modified files go through. Turns out it's just about 5MBs worth of actually translated files from the romfs so I just uploaded the folders (with the locale.txt there as well) if it interests anyone here.

Can you pirate dlc on 3DS?
For some reason I don't have Cloud and I don't feel like dropping money on him
>>
>>174408479
Yes, but if you own legitimate DLC at all it'll erase it every single time you connect to the eShop if it's from your region. If it's another region the thing doesn't care.
>>
>>174408559
If I'm understanding you right I need to download the dlc from a different region? Or do you mean something else
>>
>>174401985
Just go ti settings and activate through psn network you dunce. Before psn spoofing end so you gotta be hurry.
>>
>>174408641
No, if you want the DLC to work it has to be the region your game is in. If you get the DLC that's of your region and you already own DLC for that game from your region it will delete the illegitimate DLC the next time you go to the eShop. Let's say you own the Mewtwo bundle legitimately and pirate Cloud's, when you go on the eShop at all it'll delete the Cloud DLC and you'll have to reinstall it from FBI every single time you do this until you buy it. If the game is in another region and the DLC is in another region (So like Taiko no Tatsujin's DLC) it won't care because you can't buy it legitimately on that system and your region's eShop has no data for that.

Just remember that if you download the DLC you will always need that DLC for your save to work, so you have to reinstall it if you go to the eShop every time or you can't play the game.

Who here tried PS1 games with Adrenaline and can actually talk about how it's outputted? Is it just the exact same as the PSP but pixel doubled to fill 960x544? Or will the games actually make use of the Vita's 960x544 area, for example 480i can fit in there. I'm most curious about 512x240 games.

Getting close with this 3ds hack.

Right now it's looping to the "SafeA9LHInstaller"

The trouble shooter says:

"System boots directly SafeA9LHInstaller

Use the correct arm9loaderhax.bin
Copy arm9loaderhax.bin from the Luma3DS .zip to the root of your SD card
Reboot holding (Select) and continue
SafeA9LHInstaller shows a glit"

But, following the tutorial it says to copy the ENTIRE CONTENTS from the SafeA9LHInstaller.zip?

Can someone explain this to me? I feel like a moron.
>>
>>174413168
It's so confusing because the arm9.bin and arm11.bin are in that safea9lhinstaller but then its says to only copy the 3dsfolder and safea9lhinstaller.dat? but then it want's me to use one of those arm9loaderhax.bin? this is confusing as fuck.
>>
>>174413168

Does the console boot straight into safea9lhinstaller? Is that the issue?

>>174413168
it does say entire but a few steps later it tells you to overwrite existing files when the other a9lh.bin is thrown in
>>
>>174413362

safea9lhinstaller is it's own thing separate from luma which is what the luma a9lh.bin is i guess it is pretty confusing for new people but the guide is noob proof you don't have to understand a single term and you'll be fine

not familiar with godmode9 in the new guide but as usual you should be booting into it on boot and then move around till you get to the crtransfer folder in there should be the nand backup that was created in the previous page and no you cannot continue without doing this part it is important

Shouldn't I just continue on installing FBI?
>>
>>174414384
you have to do it either you do that part or the move emunand part if you have an emunand, you cannot continue as you're not supposed to be on 2.1 on section V and forward
>>
>>174414527
Right, so how do I get it creating this file "ctrtransfer"? Nothing is really stated in the guide.

Sorry for being a fucking dumbass.
>>
>>174414734
it's not a file it's a folder you created in the previous page
>Create a folder named CTRTransfer on the root of your SD card if it does not already exist
when you finished that page you were put on 2.1 and a nand backup was auto created and put into that folder
>This process will automatically create a backup of your device’s NAND at /ctrtransfer/<serialnumber>_nand.bin
if you didn't delete or mess with anything then everything should be there fine

What ? just manually type the path to get into the GAME folder and drop all your ps1 games in there, the ebbot should be inside a folder named after the gameid, no file to replace, nothing to do with the bubble. Your PSP games should come in this fashion :
I'll take Spyro the Dragon for example :
SCES01438/EBOOT.pbp
Where SCES01438 is the game's id.
If you use a converting software it's all automatic.

So what you put in the "ux0://pspemu/PSP/GAME" folder is the folder named "SCES01438" containing the eboot.

You put it there using vita shell, as you do for any other file you want to put on your mem stick.

I hope you'll understand, I don't see how I could explain it better.
>>

>>174421664
My best bet is that the eboot I got is fucked and I should just get an iso and convert it myself? Because I am indeed placing them in right folder.
Am I meant to delete the bubble gameid folder that is there?
I think I ask more questions than I need but I really need to comprehend the whole scheme. Sorry for being a burden anon, I appreciate your assistance nonetheless.
If you have any converters that you'd suggest, I'd be appreciated.

There is an unofficial version of mvspspp, its one version higher than the standard version, seek it.

Although these are still in PSP mode, 60fps frame count.

Neo geo CV us especially good with the music, so Amy games both rim and CD grab the CD version.

Also grab picodrive to run the English translated patched version of bare knuckle III.

Absolutely do not delete the bubble thing, it may or may not fuck up everything (can't confirm, but better safe than sorry)
Otherwise, yes, grab PSX2PSP, it's a soft that allows you to turn PSX .iso and .bin into eboot, it also allows you to manage multi-disks games and put any icon you want.

Sweet. Against, just to confirm, I'm making separate gameid folders for separate games and slapping the eboot of each one on those. Then it'll be as easy as booting up adrenaline and the games will show up on game > memstick

so I had arm9, godmod and luma3ds installed, all worked perfectly and it was smooth

I wanted to access godmode9 online instead of just having to press select because I wanted to dump a gba game savefile

I put a godmode9.dat file on the root of my sd and tried to turn on my 3ds and it just turned off

I deleted the file and even tried to replace the arm9loader.bin from luma 3ds file to see if something changed and nothing happened

I've already tryed turning it on and off with and without sd card and with a charged plugged

What do I do

Boot vita from power off and do not launch taihen/henkaku to use qmca.

Launch taihen/henkaku when you have finished up with qmca.

Not all vita folders will display, so just make a temp folder ( under windows ) on the "vita drive", and drop your files there, then copy and move them to where you need within the vita while using vitashell.

I'm the guy who uploaded the thing yesterday, I dunno why your way wouldn't work, even though it's suboptimail it should. My guess it's some conflict with the updates... I got the vanilla romfs from mine anyway, didn't touch the updates but I have them installed, and applied the latest patch. I assume they account for the updates being installed, at least the OP seems to sound like it. Then I extracted both the vanilla romfs and the patched one with "RomFS Extractor.exe" from Pack Hack, and used WinMerge to compare the folders, sorted by "binaries are different", and then selected and output the ones from the patched folder to the Luma directory. It's just about 5MBs worth of files. Giving you the recipe in case they update the translation so you know how to do yourself. Or really this is useful to any game to save space. I wish rom hackers would focus on layeredfs more now, with Luma popularizing it. Having an entire romfs bank on your SD to apply romhacks has been backwards for ages, even before Luma.

>>174440442
teensy is cheaper than pi. also you have to do soldering and load specific software
>>
>>174440429
I'm just going off of speculation here but the reason it didn't work was because it would load the English stuff and then after it would load the Japanese stuff off the files I did have and I guess they were either conflicting or being overwritten incorrectly and it just reverted tons of things. With solely the translated files they worked just fine so I'm just really glad, I was worried I would have this problem and have to manually figure out what was done. Thanks again.

This might not be the right place for it, but I can't find a modding general and I think it fits into "hacking"
I'm trying to make some modding tools for Shovel Knight Treasure Trove. Is anyone familiar enough with the .pak file format to explain what the seemingly-random 5-byte code in the header for the contained file refers to?
e.g.
>challenge_07.pak
>b2 dd f4 27 01 for the .lvb
>fb d6 da 8b 01 for the .ltb
Changing the 01 to anything doesn't seem to affect anything, but the other 4 bytes crash on any change. Swapping the two seems to have the game try to access them in place of the other or something, because it freezes and quits with "send YC an error report".

Also, does anyone have any links to useful information about modding in general? I'm going into this relatively blind, with just a few years of academic programming experience and none of modding experience.

blatantly unrelated cropped fetish image to get noticed
>>
>>174445328

>>
>>174445473
Ah. That's too bad, googling for general modding help just got me "here's how to mod [specific game with existing and well-developed modding tools]".

Does it even matter? Once Adrenaline is set up you never need to create a bubble that way again.
>>
>>174446943
I'll give it a shot, thanks.

Hey guys I haven't touched my vita since early November. It looks like the new vitashell puts usb transferred video files (vpks made into mp4s) elsewhere now. Can anyone let me know where that is?
>>
So I installed henkaku but like the idiot I am uninstalled molecular shell since I didn't know what it did. What to do now?
>>
>>174450468

vpks made into mp4s are out of date
vpks in general shouldn't be transferred, it's better to unzip them first. Or shit just get maidumps

Reboot vita and install henkaku again.
>>
>>174450302
First 3 dlc are out. Thats why im asking
>>
>>174450598
The new vitashell doesn't support mp4s anymore? I'm trying to use vpks for brew apps with no maidump alternative, is FTP the only method now?
>>
Is there a way of getting a playable 3ds rom from an estore purchase? I searched around a bit, but it doesn't seem like anyone has one for digital content.

As far as I know you can delete Molecular Shell just fine and keep Vita shell but I guess the only way to reset taihen config is through Molecular shell though.
>>
>>174450736

the new vitashell does usb
>>
>>174450789
Yes, you can but it's a pretty ignorant move of his to do that and he should probably be more mindful when dealing with stuff he doesn't understand.
*tips off fedora*
>>
>>174450789
I just had to do like this anon said
>>174450673
Thanks
>>
>>174450795
How awful. I am denied USB access to update vitashell which I want to use for USB transfer.
>>
Whoa you actually can hack 11.3 now, so much for that never being able to downgrade shit, I guess /hbg/ got BTFO once again.
>>
>>174451003

just use FTP then, it's not going to take long
>>
>>174451060

I anticipated a fix for safefirmlaunchax but the new arm11 kernel exploit was unprecedented
>>
>>174451171
Yeah, exactly what I'm doing. Just a little annoyed since my router is garbage.
>>
>>174451060
Nobody in their right mind would say that downgrading was kill forevermore.
However, nobody really couldn't estimate when that will happen again. Like how nobody can do the same now with 11.4 being out.
I didn't think it would be so soon after its release, to be desu.

Has anyone uploaded extella somewhere?
>>
lel, so I can use my DS4v2 natively through vwii but not in the wiiu itself (through HIDToVPAD), i have to go through all that network bullshit
