To the guy playing Persona 1 PS1. Like I said in the last thread. Do look up a quick guide about recruitable party members. the game is beatable with them all but it's easy to lock yourself with one of them as there's no booting them out in the main quest.

Also like was said the PS1 version changed a lot to try and make it more digestible to the US marker. Names and places where change as a minor example but the character Mark was changed entirely to be a black dude.

The entire Snow queen quest was cut out, which was an entirely separate story route. Likely because it was to brutal and costs

Pretty much the weakest point. That whole 'YOU LOST YOUR REAL PURPOSE' thing was grating, especially when I had done Mementos tasks for a few SLs at the time to improve their lives and not for the fame or fortune. Mona being jealous of Futaba and Makoto stealing his place on the team and getting pissy about Ryuji taking the piss on him for all the times Morgana did to him torpedoed any sort of amity I had for the little shit, especially because he was treating Joker, Ann, and Yusuke like shit when they didn't do anything to him.

It'd be an awful lot of work. Persona 1 and 2 don't use the typical SMT demon designs so they'd have to basically make a brand new set of HD sprites for only those games.

Teddie bailed because he felt worthless since Nanako died and he'd thought he failed her.

That's a big difference from Morgana running off due to jealousy of Futaba being a better suporter and Ryuji firing back once after a whole game of being shat on, not to mention him getting butthurt at them getting cold feet because someone was clearly screwing with them and killed their principal because he wanted to keep learning more about himself.

NO. No he wasn't. He was never a better character because motivations aside it doesn't change the fact that for 90 some of percent of the game Morgana is still a far more likable character than Teddie was.

Morgana's shit may seem petty in a vacuum but in context and because he's a more empathetic charter in general his bullshit is easier to swallow than Teddie's constant puns, obnoxious voice and sad attempts at wooing the ladies and no amount of HUR DUR Bridgette cosplay is gonna make him likable. A character can't just have ONE moment.

I think my biggest caveat for this game is how fucking boring Mementos is. Persona 3 had the same issue, not going to lie. The worst part though is the Mementos music track isn't particularly imaginative and it never, fucking changes. Persona 3 got away with the similar design because they remixed the Tartarus theme for each block (not to mention the Tartarus theme itself was way more interesting anyways). Exploring Mementos was boring as fuck with the only highlights being the bosses and finding the exit.

I'm going to have to disagree. I'm not going to say the Palace design was perfect. The Space Palace game of having to find the right boss with the keycard was fucking awful. Similarly, the hallway puzzles that break up the bosses on the Ship Palace are equally terrible. But overall, I actually quite enjoy the specifically designed dungeons as opposed to the repetitive, algorithmic ones.
