Yes, as long as you've met the prerequisite conditions for getting the materia (usually just breaking their level cap X number of times and getting their previous matera(s), it has a chance to drop off of any enemy you kill. Certain materias require you to kill enemies in specific realm dungeons, but it'll say that under the unlock conditions.

Staff of Wrath is equipped for the DEF value, I presume. Golden Staff has better SPR and MAG value, but it's not a big deal either way.
Provided there's no other TMs.. I would change out the Chapeau for the Soul Crown if you have it, as the better DEF and SPR and 5% all elements resist will give her just a slightly better edge of surviving as most AoEs are elemental. Nothing else particularly comes to mind. Maybe an accessory to resist Sleep, but that'd only matter if you're going into a trial that involves Sleep.

If you want to include other TMRs, then Soluna Rings will help her much more than either accessory. Replacing the materia with better versions is also obvious (HP +15% -> Hill Digger, MP+20% -> Deep Thoughts or Mentality)

Yea, I definitely wish I had Soluna rings but I was taking a break during the Valentine's event. I haven't gotten around to farming HP/MP materia, have been focusing heavily on my attacking units to great effect. Don't have Soul Crown either, but I could craft Crown of Justice like >>174154028 suggested. Definitely using Staff of Wrath for that sweet defense, Refia's SPR is high as it is and in my eyes it's worth the extra DEF since SPR at that amount affects heals very little.

I'm planning on grabbing that Cat Ear Hood once Mysidia part 2 drops for her, so I was hesitant to craft CoJ, but at this point I'm drowning in more eggs than I know what to do with, so..

Those are physical attacks and not hybrid, but yes.

Equipping an elemental weapon will convert all untyped damage into that element.

Your damage will be split between elements evently, becoming 50% Light and 50% Fire. If you then use an elemental attack, it will further divide (e.g. 33% Light, 33% Fire, 33% Ice.)
The most elements you can stack together, as far as I know, is 4, by using a bi-elemental attack with two different elemental weapons (e.g. Rain wielding Excalibur and Air Knife using Lava Floor, resulting in 25% Light, 25% Wind, 25% Fire, 25% Earth.)

More stuff for the Hein MP battle, since I didn't see the AI put up in any of the usual places:

He uses mostly party-wide fire/ice/lit attacks, but also has quake and meteor later on.

He does a mass sleep attack, which means that sleep resistance might be good to bring. If someone ends up triggering his confusion and it starts an endless cycle of hell, you'll probably be screwed anyway. His evasion is really high, so it's possible that it wouldn't be THAT bad, but it's still probably better not to find out.

Some people were getting away with using physical characters using lifesiphon by attacking themselves with it, but this is pretty stupid.

I don't have any FF3 stuff so here is some weird shit with Golbez and those annoying moon rabbits for easter.

A lot, but it'd be pretty easy for people to bring redundant buffs even on different characters. I have Lulu's Focus and Krile's Sheepsong, but only using them for their buffs would end up as kind of a weak team. His elemental res hurts too, since it gimps some burst commands.

I'm just hoping that people without any magic characters put some thought into it ahead of time. Any support char with soul breaks works as long as you use wrath. Dances work. OSB characters with non-elemental stuff might work, or at least wouldn't be counterproductive, although the damage wouldn't be as good without a large attack buff.

Technically you can, just nothing counterable. That means you could still use wrath, and soul breaks, although physical burst commands can still be countered. But it's actually kind of a neat opportunity to bust out whatever mage stuff you can't usually justify using and see how it goes.

Yes.

They sort of do something with the nighmare dungeons that has a story with an introduced character, although we haven't gotten that part yet. But even then, there is no real plot. It's mostly just for nostalgia.

You still need certain kinds of abilities, so soul breaks from relics aren't everything. But you're still going to be limited to what the characters you like would be able to equip. By the time you get far enough in the game for soul breaks to matter a lot, you might be ready to use other people anyway. So just use who you want right away, and worry about party building later.

Not really, it's a straightforward fight. Just make sure you've got hones (especially for Leviathan) and that you can DPS the sphere once it starts counting down from 3 (50% HP I think). It's damage barring the nightmare attack isn't all that bad, especially with your healing. Slowly wittle down the boss as you keep resetting the counter by repeatedly destroying the sphere. Bursts are incredibly useful.

Even better if you get lucky or manage to skillfully summon a glutturn and kill it.

Valigarmanda's orb starts counting down from 3 after you've destroyed it 4 times, there's no HP threshold for it. The colors shift in a predetermined order (r -> b -> y) and the one on the right changes color faster.
