Not him, but colonization in general with the +3 dev for colonized provinces during the age of exploration is pretty neat.
Makes me wanna play a colonial game, thinking about colonizing eastern america as portugal, get their two splendor things for colonization.
Then when the age of exploration is over I'd play as the colonial nation and later on form the usa.

Just got eu4, used to play a lot of eu3. What are some good uses of admin diplo and military mana? Dumped all my admin points into stability so far, dont really know what to do with the other two, and seeing them pile up feels like a waste. Buy base manpower and production points with it?
Also, don't really know what ideas to choose later, but leaning towards innovative since tech is op in every single paradox game.

Aggressively expand into your surrounding tribes and Korea until you hit 300 dev and then go after Ming using a shitload of banner units.
Your first war against Ming should be fought before 1460 and then you keep waging it until they get the unguarded frontier disaster. Then you take as much land as you can in the peace, wait for the truce to expire before taking as much land as you can again. Repeat this until Ming is gone. Use the truce times to grab yourself tributaries and then when you have enough take the mandate from Ming in one of the later wars.

If you're not confident that you can take Ming on or they're already take mil tech 6, refuse to pay tribute until they break tributary status and just wait. Improve relations and get a royal marriage too. As long as they like you, they will be unwilling to fight you but the disaster will still tick up since you're not a tributary or ally. Shit all over them when you feel like their mandate has taken enough. The penalties are scaled so they won't take the full +50% damage unless they're at 0% mandate.

You should have paid off your loans after the first war against Ming as you can take a lot of their money for very little warscore.
You've got their mandate at zero though so you've pretty much won. Just keep hammering them and don't take the mandate for yourself until you have a decent number of tributaries otherwise you will be reaping the negative modifiers of low mandate while Ming will be free of them.

Keep your stability positive (use administrative power to get stability +1 or +2, +3 costs too much).

You shouldn't need so many forts as the Ottomans.

If you're not good at fighting rebels, raise autonomy in newly conquered provinces so that they won't revolt.

Avoid taking too many loans because the interest will add up and you won't be able to get rid of the debt.
