Gs and hammer have a very low floor. Right now just focus on learning a monster's tells. What it usually does before making an attack and learn how many moves you can safely get off in that mean time.

carting is what we call losing all your hp against a monster and the cats cart you off. You get 3 of them before a quest fails. In single player these are just you, but online it's a shared pool between hunters.

The starting hammers just appear small. Some are larger than others but the hit box is the same. A tip for hammer is that you want to try to get the third hit of the standard strikes as often as you can. People refer to it as the golfswing because it looks like your hunter is teeing off.

I liked it in 4U a lot and soloed the entire game with a bunch of different lines that were a ton of fun to make. It always felt like playing a flowchart, but Gen took the braindead part of it to a whole new level and I couldn't force myself to play it anymore. Maybe Brave fixes that a bit, but you also apparently trip everybody with it so I'm not in a hurry to get attached to it again. Brave HBG is fun enough for now.

Every fucking weapon needs hyper parts to upgrade, and they drop them so rarely. I've spent ages just trying to make a lightning long sword so I can farm silverwind, but they all need some form of hyper part. I've fought hyper astalos about 10 times and haven't gotten a single hyper charged shell. And I'm expected to get THREE of these things. I could go for the lagi sword but that still requires two of them, and like I said I can't even get one. I just wish that you didn't need hyper parts for EVERY weapon.
And as for the monsters themselves, they don't really become much more fun, they get a few powered up attacks that hardly make a difference and they get more health so farming them takes even longer.

I disagree as it adds an extra layer of difficulty. It could be tweaked though. If hypers had different patterns or something other than HP bloat it would be interesting. It also more balanced the gear in Gen. For example, if you take one route of the weapon it may have higher attacks, but the hyper one may have better sharpness and slots.
