ok family here is your answer, check the spreadsheet for how long it will roughly take someone to reach r14. around 20weeks from starting unranked i guess.

The amount of time depends on different things, are you in the best premade on your faction? If so it will take you less hours to reach the honor needed. Do you have a shit premade or have to pug? It will take you much longer, you won't be able to hit 12+ without a premade.

I also assumed you would start off slower then start pushing and entering the brackets at around rank 10.

Regardless of how fast you reach rank 10, you'll always have to spend near 2 months playing 12hr+ every single day.

I rolled a rogue. I have never played one in vanilla before. Did I screw up?

What are the best pvp guilds on horde on Elysium? Would it be more efficient to rank up while leveling or to do everything at 60? Like the 19 bracket to rank 3, then max out at 49 bracket for people who want cheaper mounts. Then maybe doing r10 at 59? Apparently horde wins like every time in that bracket.

Also many thanks for the info. Didn't realize my rank 7 60 mage was so babby tier, but tbf I was only doing like 10,000-30,000 honora week lol which was nothing. And I got r7 in 3 weeks I think doing that, having started to seriously rank up when I got 60 to get the bis set. Believe I was rank 3/4 or so at 60.

Forgot to mention that you don't have to play that much to reach 10, I just assumed that whoever would go to 14 would starting pushing hard before reaching 10. Decay starts becoming a real bitch from 9/10 onwards.

About leveling, I would focus on leveling as fast as possible but picking up some honor on the way, dont stay for ages at a cap, but a day or so to get some honor for weekly progress is fine.

It's mostly just a bit of time, and if you're in a bad spot a horrible spirit run. But it's nothing like NexusTK or Ragnarok Online which I played before WoW, where gear would break, you'd drop several items and gold, and in RO you'd lose 1% EXP. Which could be hours of work towards level cap.

IF I wanted to download this and start playing it, would it matter too much which class I pick to play? IE, is it like actual vanila where some classes (pally) were unplayable or did they try to make everyting somewhat viable?

It's completely like vanilla, we just know more. Paladins are desired as healers and little else.

There's a lot of DPS already. If you play a Warlock Alliance-side you're more valuable, though. Plus if you play a Warrior you can tank most dungeons even as a DPS spec.

yeah Ghost Wolf comes earlier, which is nice, and i mean who doesn't want to be a Ghost Wolf, but Locks get free mount which is ultimately faster than Ghost Wolf.
I dunno if you can cast Ghost Wolf in combat either, since i didn't play Shaman till Cata, and by then i think we were at the point where Ghost Wolf was instant Cast? Not 100% sure though.

Because of quality russian coding, 4 adds always spawn as soon as Herod is pulled, this is the only way to prevent them from aggroing on you
1) CLOSE THE DOOR (the door may be bugged and unable to close too, kek)
2) Have everyone stand on top of the lever so the adds cannot see you from outside (tell your dipshit hunter to recall his pet for a second)
3) Tank WALKS DOWN the stairs to aggro Herod so the adds cannot see them
Step 1 is not optional, even if you are out of LoS, the adds are programmed to run in the room if the door is not closed

If you do all three steps you will either avoid all the adds or only pull 1 of them somehow but at least you won't have four myrmidons on your ass

Don't play Druid if you like doing instances.
"This will be great!" I thought. "I can heal, DPS, or tank, I will get groups instantly and instance all day!"
Just one tiny detail, you don't want to instance anymore. There's no druid loot anywhere. There are literally zero items you want from most low level dungeons. The most you can hope for is trying to nigger the +agi piece that's not all that useful to you and you have to compete for it with the hunter+rogue+shaman.
Even the blue weapons from quest rewards are totally worthless to you because you're in feral form 96% of the time.
In my warrior I did every wing of SM 6+ times. In my mage I farmed lib 10 times for the dagger. In my druid I needed to be coaxed into coming by a friend and did SM only once, completely disinterestedly, got 0 loot from any of it and picked the dumb necklace quest reward instead of the "oh my god this blue weapon is bis for like 10 levels" rush you get in other classes.

I can get a group instantly if I want to.
I don't even want to anymore.

Because the entire game is designed around two core ideas.

1. Time consumption. Since WoW uses a monthly subscription fee they need to make sure everything you do takes as long as possible. Note how so many quests make you go from one end of the map to the other and back again before you even have a mount. Also note how the endgame zones syphilis, azshara, wpl and epl are all extremely large zones with almost nothing in them. That's because you'll have a mount by that time but it doesn't actually help you finish your quests any faster due to the longer run distance and the fewer amount of quests. The more time you spend not gaining xp, the more months you'll pay for.

This also explains very well the "you think you do but you don't" video. They view removing these restrictions that make the game so time consuming as doing the player a massive service. Flying mounts, LFG, etc. However they seem to have forgotten the next part.

2. This goes hand in hand with the first idea. The more time you spend slowly walking through a zone, the more likely you are to encounter enemy player. Not just for escort but everything, from the slow running speed to the large and empty questing zones. The leveling experience was entirely designed around this idea which is why over half the quests have you competing with the enemy faction for quest items/mobs. In Dreams takes like 30 minutes to finish because even though Taelan mounts up he still walks at RP speed, making it very likely for enemy players to wait by the tower and fuck up the boss fight for you.

I have no explanation for escorts in instances though. What the fuck were they thinking?

If you can bypass the grind ESPECIALLY ON FUCKING SERVERS WITH 10 YEAR OLD CONTENT it devalues the gear greatly. Getting to rank 10 isn't TOO bad, so go for it if you really want it.

It's the R12/13 set (and beyond) that's a nightmare. R10 just means getting to know a few premades and pvping 6-12 hours a day for the final few weeks.
