Hey, I'm getting a Vita and a PSP and I could use some recommendation on games.

The Vita I'm going to buy comes with 16gb sd card, Freedom Wars, P4G, Dragon's Crown and Gravity Rush for 200 bucks. I think it's a good deal, and I want to know about 2-3 more games I should buy.

Also, I'm looking for a good PSP deal, and I already have Patapon 2, LocoRoco, MH Freedom (not Unite) and Medievil Resurrection. I don't have the console yet, but what other games would you recommend?

Its a third person shooter for the psp no less. Those games are not meant for handhelds. They did some creative shit with them to get them to work. And you can actually create a customized soldier for any of the 4 factions.

I would recommend emulating them because those games play so much better with a controller. Elite squadron introduced melee into the game and you can fight jedi and sith units with some kind of beat stick.

I've been excited about it because it's one of my favorite shmups of all time. Whole game is just ridiculous. It's very fast-paced, there's TONS of midbosses, and tons of weird patterns and ideas that you don't really see in other shooters.

It also has a great interpretation of a rank system that kind of works like the equivalent of God Hand's, where every time you get hit or use a bomb the rank lowers, and you get easier patterns (but less points). And every time you beat a boss or a miniboss, the game gets harder but throws lots more interesting stuff at you.

It's just a catchy, fun, and ridiculous (and ridiculously difficult) game, and something that I wish more shmup fans would play.

I know this is not the best thread to post this but I just wanted to share some interesting findings.

Damage cap in both GE2BR and GER is 99.999 which I believe can be achieved without modded stats. Max attack and defense value is 9.999, anything above that will revert back to 0. Modding a weapon with 9.999 attack on all 3 damage types will still give you 9.999 attack. Interestingly the game calculates the damage you inflict which can't go past the cap and then subtract the value according to where you hit the aragami and what type of damage your weapon does so even with modded max stats you won't be doing 99.999 damage unless you hit a crit with the right element on a broken aragami weak spot with the correct weapon damage type. With those stats I was usually dealing around 5k ~ 50k which is enough to thrash anything in the game in normal difficulty within seconds, 99 difficulty however would last for around 5 minutes depending on the aragami.

Also, 9.999 defense makes you literally invincible no matter what, however I've found that in GER if you have a def debuff you will still get minimal damage. Also, the aragami in GE2RB have HUGE hp pools when compared to GER same difficulty 14 and with perilous difficulty(99).

That's true, I remember hitting 60k once using a short blade and that triangle finisher BA and I didn't even try to get it that high. The modded stats only makes it easier to achieve, I didn't feel like it was that big of an advantage although being invincible really breaks the game. I got a plat recently, legit, and I was messing around with it for fun and I realized how easy the game is, outside of crimson orochi 99 that is, that thing is ridiculous even with modded stats.

Anyway, I love GE and I wish the lobby wasn't so crappy as it is, otherwise I'd still be playing it.

It seems like a fun concept when in the context of a table top RPG. Writing up a character sheet, someone actually designing a dungeon on paper, classic high fantasy setting. Just thinking about it makes me giddy and I wish I had a group of people to do that kind of thing with.

Is the point of hunting games to kill the same 3 brain dead easy mobs 100 times just to get to kill a slightly bigger braindead easy mob and then starting the cycle over again?

Don't get me wrong, I understand that there's a grind to be had. But would it hurt to have some difficulty or variety whatsoever? Monster hunter had a decent monster variety along with some mission variety with the gathering and stuff, and it actually had a difficulty curve. You could actually lose. In both GE2RB and Freedom Wars I played for a considerable amount of time killing the same like 3-5 enemies over and over and over, and neither game have yet to present anything even remotely challenging.

I don't get it. When does the difficulty start? After 50 hours? 100?
