How are hitscans at all a counter to Pharah?

People think hitscan = instant dead Pharah but she has a hell of an easier time killing you than you can kill her, especially when there's a mercy up her ass.

ngl having picked this game up recently it's a real pain to try and get some useful practice in.

Bot matches are too easy and just make you pick up lazy playstyles. No one takes arcade seriously so it's difficult to get real feel for how the regular game works because a lot of people aren't really trying/ are intentionally trolling. Then if I qp everyone else on my team and the enemy team has at least 100 hours logged, and are obviously way above my skill level.

Widowmaker is so common in quickplay that Pharah, McCree, Tracer and Zenyatta are virtually unplayable. Sombra and Orisa are also heavily affected but that's not their only problem. Sombra cannot stealth because good Widows have like 60% uptime on their ult, and Orisa dies to 1 headshot and 1 bodyshot. Even with Fortify up she melts instantly.

But she's not going to be nerfed because most players are gold and below and don't have to fight GM Widows.

Like that one match that was so onesided I actually had to check the skill rating of all players.

Our team had me in plat, one unranked, and everyone else in gold or silver.

There is literally no mode for this. Really the arcade modes should be for dicking around and trying bullshit comps and new heros but people use QP. the things i've learned in the past few days
TLDR: don't soloqueue

>matchmaking is rigged
>assuming you're consistent and play meta (Rein/76/Ana as core, in order of importance, Winston against squishies/Widowfags, or Genji/Tracer if you're just straight up better than anyone on the other team) your personal perfomance will make a difference roughly every third game (the rest you might as well just AFK, you'll win/lose either way)
>dive and cause chaos and kill shit if you want to solo carry, just doing your job won't cut it
>positioning > aim
>voice communication is the biggest fucking meme, Dunning–Kruger at it's best
>don't argue with them, there ain't no time for that
>you lose one game -> take a 10 minute break; you lose two -> quit for a day
seriously, team up with seemingly competent people (make sure they're around your current skill level, according to the system) if you're stuck, just for a few games

Been playing this game since season 2. Now a rein, lucio and zen main because i enjoy them the most, used to play reaper but it shard to do much with him now. Consistently ranked at high plat almost diamond in season 2 and season 3. Now im mid plat in season 3. For the last few weeks i've been doing drills, watching educational videos, watching pros, reading up on how to work with me team ect.

I use mic, call out important stuff, try and get the team to group up, not to waste ults or to burn shield ect. I awlays try to calm down toxic behavior and if i tilt i come off for the day.


Im STILL winning one or two then going straight back down. Unless you are vastly superior to your teamates (im talking master level postioning/ aim) is it possibly to constantly carry in plat?

Depending on the answer Im going to try for a few more days or straight up just quit and start playing a new game.


Its more work than fun now and Im honestly trying my hardest to improve. How can blizzard ,make such a team focused game then let the player bases ignore themselves more often than not?

The process of adding a victory pose isn't only posing the bones of the model and slapping it in there, you have to add it to the in-game ui, make sure it doesn't bug out, add it into their whole gold coin system, make sure the scaling doesn't bug out on certain maps, and don't forget the most important thing: There's other stuff for them to worry about, it's not easy.


This is pure speculation, i have no idea how their game engine works, but it's not a drag and drop procedure

Decided to bite the bullet and play only Widowmaker for a while until I git gud. Before I played her every now and then when I felt like it, but never consistently enough to carry.

On one hand, by now I'm good enough to dunk on other widows in my mediocre mmr range, and carry games unless I get focused/hard countered by something like quad tank.

On the other hand, if I do get focused, my team never takes advantage of half the enemy team going straight after me, and we lose.

I wonder how fulltime widow mains can deal with that bullshit.
