Actual smal tips that you may rather discover yourself, hence spoilers:
If you're planning to max all coops, you must use extra activities like games or DVDs or books or fishing or batting as least as possible and optimize your stat leveling. Like with some coop events, the 5k drink stand every sunday, taking care of your plant with the best product, etc.

There's no downside whatsoever to clearing dungeons fast. In fact when you have only a few days left in the deadline party members won't let you do coop events with them and tell you to go in the Palace instead.
The night before a raid, you can use the kitchen and the workshop so use this time to make keypicks

You can buy make SP restoring drinks from Sojiro's Confidant. The most useful thing to do is grind out a fuck tone of money and buy the SP restoring accessories from Takemi though - they heal 7 SP every turn, which is insane.
Lockpicks can be made at the table by your bed, Morgana will tell you when you're able to.

This is hands-down the most frustrating thing in RPGs, not only because it leads to bullshit luck-based deaths that are unavoidable, but because it encourages you to always make your character a tank instead of a fragile DPS or healer. I always seek out the persona with highest endurance and best resistances, regardless of skills, because of this bullshit. Gameplay revolves around switching out your persona and changing the type of character you are, but then the game punishes you if you don't play as a certain type of character all the time.

For fuck's sake, they've gotten rid of every other stupid mechanic that makes early SMT painful to play through, why the fuck can't they get this one thing right?

I'm not very far in, but this seems right to me.

P4 definitely seems like the purist, and most complete of the games. Golden especially, but vanilla as well. Dojima/Nanako are fucking god-tier SLinks and add a whole new dimension to 4 that's missing in 3 and not done as well in 5. The theme of "seek the truth" is a lot simpler to get a grasp on than all the weird shit about death or social ostracism.

3 and 5 are great, better than 4 in certain ways, but 4 is the best overall, it's the most consistent in tone and doesn't have any major flaws. Definitely the best place to start the series.

There is a "safe zone" which is slightly in from the edge of the screen and you ideally want to design your interface elements to remain within.

There is literally no difference in their voice between P3 and P4, at least in Japanese, because it's the same VA. That VA died and so they made a plot point out of it in P5 with real Igor being imprisoned by Demiurge and Demiurge pretending to be him, hence the different voice.
You eventually rescue original Igor and in Japanese he reuses voice clips from P3 and P4 of the now dead voice actor.

Just an example. I think the game itself is fantastic, but the score is lacking by SMT standards. A lot of the loops are shorter and there're less tracks used in general for most parts of the game. I just feel like Meguro lost his creative spark or something.

This is objectively untrue. P5's music is literally on average longer than P3/P4's. Every battle theme is twice the length, and the main battle theme and Rivers in the Desert are the first in the entire series to have more than two verses.
Then there's shit like every dungeon having 2 tracks, there being 2 actual miniboss themes unlike P4 which doesn't even have one, and plenty more tracks for day-to-day interactions. Heck, P5 has only one less vocal track than P4 - the game just uses its vocal songs far more sparingly, which is a good thing since vocal tracks get grating far quicker.

Dungeon music gets way better. Once you get to the bank the only theme that's weak afterwards is the spaceship, and Ark is okay but that's it. The only P3/P4 dungeon theme that compares is Heaven, I found P4's dungeon music in particular pretty repetitive and samey for the most part.
