like there's a master slot that mimics an infusion, making something heavy or elemental or whatever, and then there's the three gem slots. except i'd like gems to be less focused on straight damage boosts and be more about secondary effects that are only useful in certain circumstances to make your gem selection feel more like it matters.

But, what I really want, is a system like Bloodborne's, in that you can change a weapon's total damage type as well as how it scales, but with actual visual changes to match.

I used to be able to farm titanite so hard and upgrade the shit out of everything once you reach andre. Now there is only a short section of the game (after getting Dreamchaser's ashes) where you might get an upgrade boost due to easily available titanite, but doesn't potentially "break" difficulty since there is only 3 tiers before you'll need large shards

This boss was fucking stupid.
I surprisingly beat it after like 10 tries, but because of what i felt was luck.

It was the one attempt where he didn't decide that he would do nothing but breathe fucking fire into my face the entire time.

Towards the end of the fight he started doing that 1-2 slam combo that leaves his head wide open after it 3 times in a row, then i got the visceral attack on his head.

Honestly the boss isn't that hard. I also beat it in like 8 tries but mainly because I had a 2h ultra weapon.

The trick is to get 1 maybe 2 hits on him and then bail asap. If he does his melee attacks just run inwards and then he'll do a fire attack. So once you dip in you dip immediately out. Rinse repeat, second phase is pretty much more of the same except you gotta watch out for his nucular WMD beam. His other fire spells can be blocked pretty safely with the dragoncrest shield for minor dmg.

If I were a SS user or some other dex weapon I probably would've came to the same conclusion after many more deaths since I'd be used to spamming hits.

It does nothing if they walk to the side. The only consistent use of projectiles in pvp is to punish someone when they're outside of your weapon's range. Lightning urns do just that without any investment.
