The moment you add a whole bunch of little bonuses people try to figure out what is the most optimal way to play. Small bonuses are harmless on their own, but once you start having multiple of them things can get unbalanced. Additionally it would be a pain to keep track of.

But yeah, we need more pve events, but that's unlikely to happen anytime soon.

I'm getting into the shooter funk quicker than I had hoped playing this game. Every lost match just makes me angry, especially because the become more and more frequent the more I play.

For low ranks it'll be less picked because you can't just AFK support the team with no skill required. For high ranks he'll be competing with other healers, and backline disrupters like Tracer, and Genji. Even with his new +50% healing he can only heal 162 HP in a 3 second Amp It Up, so his ability to heal is really shot. With an 88.88% smaller area of effect you would need to only have people out of your aura 33.33% less of the time for things to be a net zero.

If he isn't good enough on his own as a harasser who can spot heal a bit, then he'll be relegated to speedboosting checkpoints, KOTH booping, and stalling on the point. He won't be trash tier, but he's trading his strong suit, for something there are already good characters for.

Honestly, when I read someone saying they should buff the radius on just the speed boost again, it made total sense to me. It's so fucking hard to keep anyone in your aura for any purpose other than healing them for .2 seconds, that bothering to speedboost other than some super tryhard, everyone on coms: HUG THE LUCIO, SPEED BOOST, ULT NOW!!!, is really difficult. It'll still be the best option at times, like helping people escape a situation healing won't matter in, but for the most part the speed boost has become a personal tool rather than a battlefield tool.
