im only a pleb who has done levelling content and just about to hit 60, but the questing is far, far better with less 'teleport to place and talk to person then come back' and the levelling dungeons have been pretty great

Ravannah and Bismark were pretty dope too.

The areas are really pretty, especially Ishgard itself, and i like how much larger they are than ARR ones.

SCH didnt get anything super flashy but Emergency/Deployment Tactics are pretty handy, and Broil is just better Ruin so whatever

SMN got some really nice toys with Painflare, Deathflare, Dreadwyrm Trance and the ability to change back to Carbuncles was nice too

Warrior, you will breeze through the MSQ with warrior and it does servicable DPS

I think the best advice would be not to rush through things! I see a lot of new players being encouraged to speed through content to catch up to the gear threadmill, but that usually lands you in a rather dull situation with little to do and few fun adventures experienced along the way. With the new expansion being months away now's a really good time to take your time and get a feel for the game and pay attention to the story! It's a bit lackluster up until the Heavensward expansion but it's worth experiencing. The main story quests have a little meteor symbol next to them in your quest journal and they're the best way to level your first class to 50 and rewards you with items, gil and new content such as dungeons.

Most classes are pretty easy to be okay at I'd say! Since you can change them at any time without penalty you can take your time and try out a bunch of different ones to see which one feels the most fun for you.

FFXIV's a very easy MMO to get into so it's a good introduction to the genre.

Echo doesn't stop people fucking up A12S. You can still join "farms" right now and probably have a healer let you die to Scourge. Healers still won't heal through Holy Bleed. You'll still have a tank die to Half Gravity because he didn't know what a cooldown was.

Echo doesn't change the flaws of the playerbase, and you can click it off for yourself when you're doing it with your static if you wish
