The game revolves around one hit/one round KO's and in that environment healers are always going to be worthless. The entire cast's attack numbers and game itself would need adjustments just to make healers viable.

Aegis/Pavise/ect. have a similar problem, where attack values are so high that defensive abilities and skills are just worthless compared to offensive ones, even on defensive characters.
