You get least 30 gems a day doing dailies, plus more if there are events going on. There is the unlimited battle mode that give gems based on how you do compared to other people, like a ranking, and I can get around 20 every 3 days from that. It's not for beginners though. There is log in gems as well (~300-500? per month). Either way you can farm for all A characters (Assault Mei, Saint Kiana), just play the game and grind and have fun, you'll get a good team even without gems.

Priority is maxing affection for good characters. The stat gains are much bigger than levels. Get as far as you can in story mode until you get stuck. At that point just do dailies, farm crystals, roll gacha for better units and try to do Underground normal to farm *5 grade B gear. Go back to story and repeat.

The current raid is water so the next raid is going to be either dark or fire. I highly recommend working towards good teams for these two elements.

Assault Mei looks really nice from that video but I deeply hate how Thunder mei has such a insanely short range.

Her leader skill is mega strong since two demon queen meis (Yours+Support) lets you have all your skills charged and ready to use from the start, her QTE skill enters time-space lag and does a weaker version of her special and her special enters time-space lag and tosses everything to the air before doing a million cuts.

I just do not like her playstyle since you have to be really up close and personal while I prefer having a more forgiving range like the starter Kiana or Saint Kiana. There's also my personal preference at work since I prefer Kiana myself over mei. And both wikis I've read heavily recommend having her knife if you want to see her true power but odds of me getting that knife look pretty bleak.

Anyhow, this is a stage from infinite battle mode ('tower'). You are placed in a bracket of 20 players, and compete against each other to get to the higher floor. Through out the battle, your HP slowly decreases, which is why Saint Kiana is such a good support unit here, a well as being a strong character. Your HP and EP carriers over from battle to battle, and each subsequent battle becomes more difficult. This ranking battle occurs twice a day, and at the end of the duration, if you are one of the top players of the bracket, you are placed in a higher tier, if you are on the bottom of the bracket you go down a tier. Higher tier means more difficult battles but also better rewards at the end of the ranking. As you can see, at my rank, if I place middle of the bracket, I stay in my tier and get 160 gem. The highest tier, tier 7, will get 600 gems as reward if you can stay in it, and 300 if you can't. If your character's HP run out, that character can't participate anymore until her energy (basically HP) fully recovers, which takes about 6 hours. If you quit mid-battle, your characters take a large hit to HP, so you can't redo without penalty like all the other stages.

Global PotK got an update recently with a bunch of UI and mechanics changes. Old AI used to be that enemies would head for your leader but would engage anyone that was in range first. Now, when doing exp levels the Metal Maidens will run past friend units and head straight for the level 1 unit you're trying to level up. Makes it really shitty if your friend unit is a 1 range attacker. Even if you park your level 1 behind the friend unit at a choke point they'll just sit there 1 space away and not engage the friend unit any more. Anybody play JP and able to confirm if JP AI is like that as well?

That mech looking girl looks like yui's sister or friend. And much better looking, the astronaut dragon rider with the mechanical popcorn, I'm pretty sure these two were separate characters because I had popcorn as my first 4* in rune story

It's a decent FE-style game if you can get past the typical gumi and global drawbacks. In typical global fashion, they're not very generous and most of the gachas are really bad unless you're at least a regular moderate spender.

Gumi really love step gachas, and by far that's what the majority of them are in PotK. They used to be 3-4 steps, but in the last couple months they starting running 9 step ones, which cost literally hundreds of dollars to do just one and there are whales that do the entire 9 steps without getting even a single featured character. With the low amount of lazuli they give out it's not possible for a f2p player to compete a 9 step gacha, whereas before they might have been able to save up for a 3 or 4 step one.

Global still has mana (free) gacha characters in the lazuli gachas, and they show up VERY often. There are also guys, which original mode JP doesn't have, though the actual number of guys isn't that large since they have to be newly created for global instead of using existing JP characters. It's also not the oriinal JP story but rather a new one created for global. They have done a few collabs, even if they'll never do all the JP ones - not just Brave Frontier but also Dempagumi and Madoka.

The RNG is also really stacked against the player. Fusing weapons often gets you the exact same thing or even something worse. Enemies with single digit crit chances will somehow crit you far more often than that.

Overall I feel like it's a decent side game, but would be too expensive for me to make it a main game. You can do fine with the farmable 5* event characters and whatever you manage to roll from judicious use of free lazuli.

Male Laevateinn and Tyrfing here are the "main" characters, but that's just main story scenes. You get a 3* version of the former but you also get a 5* female Laevateinn from a beginner panel reward. I'd say that my ratio of female to male 5* characters is about 8:1.

They'll definitely engage the friend unit at the choke point and even as range 1-2 metal maidens they'll still attack at range one if it's the only way they can attack something. At any rate though, the regularly scheduled metal maidens in JP now are either:

a) Units of a single element only, no friend rentals. Pays a lot better than the old super metal maiden and soloable by melee units that have already gotten escorted through it once (lvl 30 or so). So it pays to have an escort metal maiden killer of each element.

b) Metal maidens feat. current new gacha units with metal maiden stats. Gives bonus exp to whatever the current lineup of new units are, including event units.

I run the normal 20AP one with a level 1 3*, since they almost always max out without needing to get any killing blows. Before the update I could just leave my unit around the starting area and move the friend unit over to the left to intercept the nearby enemies. As long as my unit stayed out of their range they'd focus on the friend unit.

Since the update, the metals have been moving past the friend unit without attacking it, even when my unit was outside of their range and the friend was in it. I tried changing tactics and moving down to the bottom corner where I can position my unit behind the friend unit near the shoreline where the metals can't get to. With a friend Selena unit I had 3 metals sitting outside her range and they would not move in on her turn after turn like they used to. I ended up having to let them kill my 3* just so Selena could move into range to attack them.

So now I need to figure out some new way to do it when I have a non-horse/flyer 3* and a 1-range attacker friend that doesn't involve letting my 3* get killed off.

Global hasn't seen the single element no friends one yet, but the featured character one has been around for a while.

It's a fun game, I play it and enjoy it immensely. That said, it will take a long time to progress/clear stages, gear up, rank up characters, recruit characters, level up and skill up characters. It is very much a pay 2 progress faster game. I wouldn't really say its pay 2 win, but when you can pay to get things done faster then I guess it is in an indirect way.

Characters are not rolled in a gacha, they are either gotten with a selection ticket, directly through the store for gems or through the adventure inn.

Clearing chapter 1 easy with 3 stars on each map will award you with a 2* character select ticket. Which means you'll be able to choose any character that is 2* and doesn't have the NEW indicator. (NEW characters get added to the tickets once a new set of heroes is released). It's usually recommended to get a dps with this ticket. Dimael is usually the hottest choice for this ticket.

Clearing chapter 1 normal mode with 3 stars on each map with a 3* Clause, a tank. He is actually a very good unit and it would be entirely okay if you kept him as your tank all the way through.

For new players as a login reward you get a 3* selection ticket after a week. This will let you pick any character that is a 3* in the shop. Again, it's recommended to pick a dps. One that is opposite damage type of the 2* you got first. So if you picked a 2* physical its recommended to get a 3* magic dps. Pavel is usually the hottest choice for this ticket.

All characters can be upgraded to 5* and there is no "useless" character, but some are better than others in things like Arena. Clause for example is extremely good in both PvE and PvP because he has low-cost CC.

It's not advised to roll the weapon gacha with gems. There is no reliable way to farm them. Save for characters.

I actually enjoy it a lot, game has a very large ceiling for min/maxing, there's some strategy in the auto battle to do timings for stun chains to avoid boss mechanics, etc. There's a raid mode to kill a raid boss with friends, they have it set up it looks like to eventually host you and 3 others but for now it's just you amd one other. It has dps meters and such so you can see the ramification of your gear and farming choices amd see what your actions do.

There are also plenty of characters with different styles and combinations of charas to play with. The game has a very nice polish to it and had bearly endless stamina because your stamina rate has a minute refresh base and it goes lower and lower with account levels.

What I appreciate a lot is the devs listen to player feedback and are very quick to respond to issues. The two big issues noted so far were the censorship of the girls to stay under 12 rating on google play and that the starter characters were weak. The decs did a rush job to censor the girls, then went back like 7 hours later to give them a better polish that actually looks very nice and hardily censored save for one chara. The 2nd issue with the base issue is they buffed the starter charas by a large margin, with one of them being potentially a top 5 dps and the other a top healer.

Yeah from what I read loot ticket works on upper, so the trick is to use it 30 minutes before the daily reset. Then do your 5 runs, reset, do 5 more. Then on other side of daily reset with 30 mins of ticket left do the same thing. Can get a chara 5* in like 2.5 days from 4*. I want to say it works on stickades too but I'm not 100%.

Depends on how much you value food, codons, and dogtags.

The ranking does affect drops, but not tank or pin drops. I noticed the one time I never got a food drop on the final node was when I A ranked it instead of S. Though this is anecdotal.

With concentrated farming, you'll probably get any one thing besides dogtags and food faster elsewhere using corn, but the event still probably provides the most stuff aggregated.

Honkers Impact is fun but you need a month to collect enough gems for a 10 pull. Its insane.

A month for your first then over a month for the 2nd one.

With how the rates are, you have to fully expect to never see anything nice from the gacha ever unless you reroll for it. And the rerolling is EXTREMELY painful.

All down to what events are going on. You're never going to have a lot of rolls but when events are good it makes a noticeable difference.
