You want to give Leaf plenty of experience points in chapters 1-3 because you want him to be as strong as possible in chapters 4-7. This should be obvious. Yes, Leaf's growths without scrolls mean that he will likely only get 2-3 stats each level up. But as far as I'm aware, 2 is more then zero. Withholding exp from Leaf early on is stupid, the late-game benefits are minimal and are basically irrelevant and doing so will cause you to have more difficulty in the hardest segment in the game.

You already have Ryoma, if you want a red book without attack down just use Lilina, she is fine as she is and doesnt need to fuck around with a buff team. She isnt as good as Tharja overall but she is far more than capiable, and can easily one shot Hector if she is attack+ with a buff or triangle adept. She can also cover swords nicely with Swordbreaker and any bowusers nicely with Raven+ though you have that covered very well with Robin so it isnt quite needed at all anyway.

It is through Hinoka's adamant desire to protect others that a softer side to her personality is simultaneously revealed; she is, at the core, selflessly compassionate, where she values the lives of others more than she does her own, no matter what their social class may be. This is especially evident in her supports with Azama, where, in spite of his protests, Hinoka desperately attempts to salvage the life of a fatally wounded soldier, unreservedly demanding him to lend his healing assistance to her.

Is glimmer underrated? Sure you will get more procs of moonbow in a given battle, but usually you can choose a favorable first matchup. You finish the first battle and will have glimmer ready for the second battle. I'm doing the math and so long as you have a decent attack stat, ~45ish, you're still getting a good return on damage compared to moonbow/luna even as the enemy's defense scales to about 30.

Glimmer is shit because it multiplies final damage instead of the Attack stat. In other words, it's boosting after Defense/Res is subtracted, not before. This wouldn't matter as much if the boosted damage was purely addition, but seeing as it's multiplication... you're losing a nice chunk of hurt right there.

Short answer: Lazy programmers.
Long answer: They actually did it that way from a gameplay and replay value perspective. A huge aspect of FE4 is fucking around with eugenics, and having (another two) of the kids locked out of that would make the game a tad bit less fun to mess around with.

This. +Speed Fury 3 Olwen can actually double reasonably often and will just shred those things to pieces.

The one thing that Olwen has over her brother is a drastically higher speed stat. 29 speed neutral, 32 + or with Fury, 35 with +Speed and Fury. That's AFTER the Dire Thunder penalty. She NEEDS SI to be useful, but with it she's terrifying. Even just Fury 3 means she 1RKOs Takumi at neutral ATK if he isn't +HP or +RES.

Not much wants to eat four RES targeting attacks unless it's green and has good RES. Bonus points if you throw Desperation and Threaten Speed or Threaten RES on there. And Moonbow for obvious reasons.

I wish I had more cavalry for a meme team, having just Eirika to buff her is nowhere near as stupid as she could be.
