What's wrong with this SME? I'm trying to learn engineering on a self hosted server, I'm filtering the coolant (Nitrogen) and venting everything else, cooling the nitrogen then re-injecting it. The temperature was slowly rising though, and the power slowly dropping. What gives? The scrubbers were scrubbing Plasma, Oxygen and Nitrogen, and the filter was running at 4500kpa

How much coolant did you inject, in canisters?

You want to dump in as much coolant as possible to slow the rate at which it all heats up. remember that one canister of nitrogen will heat up much faster than say, 4.
Other than that, power goes down because the shard is stimulated by plasma/oxygen(or is it high pressure?) all of which your setup removes. The emitters provide enough power on their own, but if you want to get into real niggawatts of power you're going to need to figure that out as well.

Active cooling is legit. Only use TWO cannisters, 4 is too much and will clog the loop. Also set the scrubbers to siphon.

With active cooling as seen in the picture, you are actively pumping gasses into the chamber, and gasses out. In passive cooling, you use heat exchange pipes inside the chamber to cool it. You still need to have scrubbers take out all gasses except oxygen, but otherwise no gas ends up ever entering the chamber, outside of what the SME produces. You also have to have gasses going into the heat exchange loop, but a canister is more than enough.
