I just got ending E

Well it's nothing what i Expected.
I thought i get another bunch of side quests will have to grind every single weapon in the game, bust my ass for week grinding shit and then get my anus raped by some secret boss that one shots me when the screen is black and credits are rolling.
And i heard someone moan they got raped harder than in D3.
Is all of that shit in the sidequest?
Is E not the TRUE ending?

I've consumed media and fiction all my life, played and watched more stuff that I can count to the point of becoming completely cynical and practically unable to be impressed by anything.

A few things managed to make me tear up before, Automata straight up made me break down crying like a little bitch by the end. Like someone had punched me right in the feelings.

There's really nothing else to this post. I've just felt like absolute shit for the past two days. I still randomly tear up a bit whenever I think about it like some dumb teenage girl who got dumped by her boyfriend.

I'm not sure how to deal with this.

You must have cleared the Lunar Tear questline first.
Once it is done, Emil will randomly pop in the commercial block in front of the forest (same location you first met him). Talk to him, and it will trigger the quest for the secret boss fight.

Remember that if you want ending Y in your save state, you must deliberately let the "special sequence" happens at the end of the boss fight. If you don't, you will clear the quest and it won't be repeatable at all for that save state.

I got the Ancient Overlord to Lvl 3, and have the Critical ability now. I see these Critical Up chips are crazy valuable. Like Emil sells a Crit +6 (10% crit chance) for 50k.

How do Crits work? Does a 10% chance mean 10% of my strikes will be criticals? How much do criticals do? Is it worth it?

Also, how does countering work? I’ve tried using light attacks in the direction of incoming attacks like in MGR, and it just seems to hit like normal. I have a Counter +3 chip on.

This is the first Taro game I've played, so maybe it's clearer to those who've done the others.

Yes. Critical deal multiple times the normal damage that hit would do, sending a hit worth 500 damage into 2000 damage territory, for example. Some weapons have higher crit values than others. Critical+ means that the crit rate and crit bonus damage value are higher for that weapon. The weapon with the best crit rate and crit damage multiplier is the Cypress Stick. The chips are pretty much always worth it for any weapon.

Just press the stick into the direction of the incoming attack at the same timing as a Perfect Evade to counter. You can be doing any other animation at the time, it'll cancel out of it and counter the attack.

Ditto. I definitely enjoyed the ride and was on board with the emotional rollercoaster the whole way through, but for me it was always a "oh this is interesting, I can't wait to see what happens next" and not a "oh please god no don't do this taro" thing.

I have what is most likely a dumb question.

2E is an execution type. She was tasked with killing 9S whenever he learned too much or when his curiosity got the better of him.

Does that mean she knew about the truth regarding humans?

I have seen both sides of this, with people saying 2E didn't know or did know.

So I realise today that I fought the Factory boss without turning my flashlight on. At first I thought this fight was extremely cool because it's pitch black and you only see it's glowing eye but now I realise it was never meant to be like that.

AFAIK canon nier 1 ending is that Nier never existed, and while I don't think we ever learn for sure what happens to Kaine Emil's dialogue implies that she died between the events of Nier 1 and Automata. I mean obviously, she would've died of old age 50-60 years after the events of nier 1 even if she never got killed by anything.

I don't know if emil ever found her again after the events of nier 1 though, or if she ever discovered that Emil survived the fight with D&P
