A meta Blademaster set in MHX/Gen that's largely Silver Sol, but uses the Hayabusa Feather and Vaik Faulds on top of a Sharpness +5 OOO charm to fit on:

Since MHXX is out I'm sure you guys play it. I can't afford to buy a Japanese system and game. Waiting for MHG-G or whatever it will be called.

Got a load of questions though since I can't seem to find a good place to look. Been watching a ton of Brave Style fights and all info I can.

- Are deviants still a disgustingly annoying ticket grind fest of do all 10x stages 4 or 5 times?
- Is GL still shit, slow and ass or are these early Brave Style videos just against weak ass monsters?
- How many NEW monsters are in?
- Do we get more inventory space when transferring the save? My shit is nearly full. (suppose this is fixable with a cleanup)

Lance with Guard +2 can't even block the damn thing, and I've yet to try with Guard Up ( Then again I don't even know of a set to get both of those on easily enough ). You can Adept dodge it just fine though, so I will -Assume- Brave's action will work as long as you face it correctly. The real issue is that if it's coming for you, 9/10 times it's going to land BEHIND you instead of in front of you, and that's going to really fuck up blocking it.
In earnest I though I had blocked it wrong the first two times I got sniped by it, but it turns out you can't block it with a Lance by normal means.

Oh, and Brave is considered a straight upgrade for LS and IG. LS doesn't even care about the time it takes to fill up the brave gauge because it's actually faster and easier than hitting red spirit normally, and its motion values in brave mode are crazy, while IG loses nothing but mountspam outside of brave mode, and in brave mode gets free evasion+2 and a DPS boost in the form of charged kinsect attacks on every A hit.

The issue isn't with the decorations, it's with the fact that we have 330 raw three-slot natural purple weapons. If you have natural purple weapons with raw equal to or higher than handicraft-requiring weapons, why even bother?

Sure thing, you waste 15 points to use a 330 raw weapon while I don't waste any points and still use a 330 raw weapon, but also have challenger+2 and AuM.
Handicraft isn't weak, natural purple weapons are just overpowered, so you get zero incentive to actually use handicraft.

Here's truth time: I don't even have MHXX lol.
But, given how /mhg/ also thinks that Hellblade weapons are the only weapons in MHGen, despite the fact that weapons that want S+2 in Gen frequently have +10, +20 or even +30 attack on HB weapons on top of potentially superior elements and slots, and this is a G RANK game, I've got a strong feeling that we're going to be seeing at least some Handicraft sets.

Pure Raw weapons will likely go with Mantis / Raw weapon du jour, of course, but I'm sure things like SnS, DB and IG will appreciate having an element and a longer purple sharpness bar.

At first I thought it was a guild lance with nothing special. Then I remembered x + a exists. Thus began endless shieldbashing and charge spam. It's like striker charge spam but you get a shield bash to cancel anything and chain combos. MV for charge must be shit though since you can do the wide sweep and jump attack. Strong triple poke finisher is cancer though. It could've been fun but they had to keep that garbage.

It's mostly the fact that third stab just lasts fucking forever, and you can't cancel it early with a sidestep or anything. It's really punishing for lance to have that stab, and it's the reason why Striker is just better for lance in general, outside of the better MV's on top of that. Otherwise you have to 2 stab and then ether shield bash or sidestep to reset your combo.

Element is literally irrelevant in XX. Raw ramped up to an insane degree but element is only slightly higher than in Gen, so element values are far too low to be a DPS benefit over just stacking more crit with a high raw weapon.

Crit boost exists. That's why sharpness + 2 sets or even sharpness + 1 sets aren't as insanely as the natural white weapons with good raw and crit. Thay's why hellblade weapons are the top. If I remember around 200 attack and critboost set easily beats atk up 50 + with the same sharpness or something. Sure you can possibly gem in critboost but the lack of slots makes you cry for razor sharp, weakness exploit or more crit. There are exceptions such as green weapons with insane raw. But they don't need sharpness + 2. Crit is literally meta. 20 affinity + whatever has the best combination of raw vs sharpness will probably be the best weapons. Something something more ramble Honed blade exists something something. But it's probably going to be a pain in the ass to get. Overall you can fit sharpness +2 on le meta hayasol set then it's probably good enough.

With a cursory glance over https://mhxxx.kiranico.com/sou I found the Zinogre DBs, which, with S+2, have 320 raw, solid purple Sharpness, solid white Sharpness as a back up, and 25 Thunder, as well as two slots.

Like, if you have to butcher your entire set to fit S+2 on, then yeah, it'll be garbage. But you don't. Esurient XR arms/waist/legs gives S+2, and you've got 9 slots open plus the two in the weapon. That's an easy Weakness Exploiter and about half of Crit Boost, and you've still got the chest, helmet and charm to go.

What would DB's prefer, 25 Thunder, or Challenger+2?

Rajang DB, considering its negative affinity, has about 10-12 more raw than Lagi DBs. That is in exchange for 1 element. This by itself favors Rajang. However, when you look at the sharpness level, you will see that Rajang falls short of Lagi by far. The use of razor sharp still doesnt put them at equal levels. Even with that said, Rajang DBs are not bad. If you need the slot or whatever, feel free to use them. After all, they are ELEMENT DBs. This whole discussion was about if element was worthless in XX. It's not, its just situational. You need to build around it, you need a fast weapon, you need a good charm, yo need to hit the proper places, etc. When all of these things come together you can get something really great. If these conditions arent met, you are better off using something else. It's that simple.
