So it's not just me? I even kept my expectations down because I knew nothing can match the original.
I'd put it on par with DoD3 but don't think anything from Automata beats Black Song, This Silence is Mine and Final Song.

Track that stood out the most and probably my favorite is the one you encounter the cult robots with Pascal and need to escape.

I can't think of a single track in the first game that I liked more than it or Possessed by a Disease and some others, only maybe Snow in Summer, and I got tired of song of the ancients long before the ending credits. Not only do I think the songs are better, they're more varied and used a lot better instead of looped forever.
But I'm one of the few that liked DoD1 and 3s OST as much as the original Nier so I'm probably in the minority.

Combat on console is a locked 60fps but I noticed a few drops while sprinting through some of the city areas. Nothing big enough to spoil the experience since wen you engage it combat it seems to go back to normal, it needs a bit more optimization in the city areas.

That was on PS4 Pro, not sure about the base model, I know it runs at 900p on the base.

I don't know where the whole "they want to keep the war going on forever" thing came from, maybe i missed something, as i understood it, the machines were building the white tower to blow up the moon and kill the humans, thus ending the war, they changed their minds at the last minute because of Adam and Eve.

Meanwhile, the Androids were already fighting with the intent to destroy the machines before YoRHA was created, YoRHA was created because without humans the Androids were losing morale, and YoRHA was created as a way to keep morale up and evolve the androids until they were strong enough to eliminate the machines forever.

The whole they keep evolving thing is just a byproduct of machines and androids trying to one up each other, to end the war.

The machines originally made the a "forever" scenario. They basically said "lets just keep this conflict eternal and put a pin in it just in case we change our minds" hence the backdoor. Then they came up with the tower idea which meant once they deemed their progress sufficient they could just pull the pin and be done with it all.

It's because I upgraded the virtuous swords to 4 and read their stories. Those were her swords. Plus frankly, she could've been silent and I'd still feel attached. I always get attached to a character that I play because I've sunk time into upgrading them and getting good with them.

It ran fine for me too. Mostly running on a 1080. I did get some werid frame drops here and there. Like sometimes going into the alien cave dropped frames. Most of the time not. It definitely has some issues that need to be patched out.

From almost the very start I under the assumption that Androids were machines in some way, it seems obvious, why would these scrap bots be any danger to the advanced Androids and keep fighting if there wasn't something else going on?

I didn't get that ending. A2 looks like she's alive if she's able to rest on window ledge like that and the pods are trying to reconstruct 2B and 9S and reinstall their memory or something? This feels too happy.

No it was installed by the guys responsible for the YoRHa programm. YoRHa units were designed to be destroyed sooner or later and that's why they have the black box as their core and not a normal AI because this was deemed unethical.

YoRHa collects data, gets destroyed and a new unit will take its place, with updated models and massive amounts of data to utilize.

Okay. Lets break this down.
Now i'm not disagreeing as a disclaimer so keep that in mind.

Option 1. You kill him. Thats it. His suffering is done. Best option.

Option 2. You walk away. That moment alone breaks him down even more. You can actually hear his soul die a secon time as he begs you not to do this to him. You've now condemned him to that, the suffering lead up to his suicide, and his suicide. Second worst option.

Option 3. You condemn him to this same shit in the future over and over and over forever till someone picks option 1 or he picks option 2. He'll also realize a bit what happened previoualy from contextual clues and reacquired knowledge so he'll be plagued by that all the way. Worst option.

Out of all the shit options given Option 1 is the "best" and Option 3 is the WORST.

Getting the data of yorha I see as the issue. I know yorha had a built I backdoor to just end it, but it never really described why if it's purpose was to give androids a purpose. The bd was there to end yorha for some odd goal that's not really well explained

Use 9S.
Hack either a floater or a snake.
Floater- tap jump sparingly as get as much distance as possible while maintaining height
Snake- do a running jump. You can get surprising distance, it's enough to get to that Flooded city roof at least.
The item over there is a locked chest anyway and you need 9S to hack it. You'd be pissed if you actually made that jump as 2B.
