Main story is pretty good. The routes vary wildly in quality and I honestly think the package would be better without any of the erotic scenes.
The way everything is presented is very nice and it has a good soundtrack. MC is an actual character and not a self-insert which is usually a plus.

KnS has some pretty depressing things going on it, but I wouldn't say it reaches the point of existential dread. Actually, I can't really think of any VNs that made me feel that way.

Swan Song is a pretty big downer, I guess. And its endings are bittersweet at best.

I might recommend Fata Morgana, but aside from it having loads of tragedy porn, it's also one of the more uplifting VNs by the end. Kind of the opposite of feeling like the Universe lacks meaning.

Danganronpa--the first game, at least--has a sort've similar oppressive atmosphere to Euphoria, and the characters are also participating in a "game" with death as a consequence. Then again, it also handles that content with a sort've banal and edgy humor which makes it difficult to take seriously. It's more "fun" than "dreadful"

Saya no uta is pretty dreadful. And none of the endings are particularly happy. Then again, you've probably already read this.

Saya no Uta was I think the second vn I ever read, still consider it one of my favorites, if only because it's influenced my preferences so strongly.

Just finished A-2 Mon's extended route. I was expecting a lot worse after the S extended routes. Probably one of my favorite routes now as a whole.
