Apoptosis are meant to be harder to recruit for plot purposes. Can't remember exactly but it's got something to do with them being "ordered" to not to cross the border between worlds.

Either way, for the first Tartarus Jaide seems to always be the first one you'll recruit, then Sully and finally Shesta. But even with max affinity there's still like roughly a 1 in 10 chance of recruiting them and even then it's still quite random since you can sometimes have them asking to join you after just one fight or never even after 20+ fights.

Just make sure you have someone like a Hunter or Monster Tamer equipped with a passive like Recruit Rate +50%/+100%, or an accessory like a Ticket of Invitation (that you can win as a prize at the Pornof underground casino). Informants and Smooth Talkers like Amira can also spam Ally Invitation as well.

Speaking of saves, the version of NScripter used in Monster Girl Quest has an arbitrary code execution vulnerability related to save games (not that anyone here has shared maliciously crafted save games). It also uses up an entire CPU core all the time, for seemingly no good reason, which will probably make your fans go into jet engine mode if you have a laptop. You can fix both of these issues by updating to the latest version of NScripter.

While the majority of the interface won't need to be translated again since it'll undoubtedly remain the same as Part 1 with the exception of the new job and race (and items) additions, if what TRTR posted on their blog is true about Part 2 being 30%-40% bigger than Part 1 then Dargoth is still going to have his work cut out for him with translating the main storyline itself. And with no trial to kickstart things (unlike with Part 1), he'll pretty much have to hit the ground running with Part 2.

It's probably better if you get started with learning some of the basics in Japanese and would be able to jump right into Part 2 once it gets released without having to wait. Or get ITH and simply brute force your way through with machine translations.

The pace at which you learn is up to you so I'm not sure I can be of much help on this.

But I would start with learning all the Hiragana and then Katakana. Both are essentially the English alphabet equivalent of the Japanese language; the latter (Katakana) is used for foreign words that don't exist in the Japanese vocabulary and these are always plentiful in a game like MGQ.

Then learn some of the staple verbs like that usually end with a る (ru) or す (su), and then move on to adjectives that almost always end with a な (na). While you're at this, try to remember or at least be able to recognise the Kanji that most of these verbs/adjectives use. If there aren't any Furigana that you can see (Furigana are the little Hiragana on top of the Kanji), use a machine translator to help you. Once you know how to pronounce the Kanji it's usually very easy to identify what the word is. Then once you've gotten your basic grammar down, move on to nouns for things like foodstuffs or objects (もの / 物 / mono).

After that, try to form some sentences by mixing up the stuff you've learnt so far like "Use this" (これを使ってくれ / kore o tsukatte kure) or "So you were here after all!" (やっぱりここね ! / yappari koko ne).

This is obviously an overly simplified guide on how to get into learning Japanese but once you start somewhere you'll gradually pick it up over time. Don't stress if you get stuck on something.

Part 2 is 50% bigger than that.

So part 2 of Paradox is about 14x as big as any part of the original VN. That is absurd.
Plus, that's just Torotoro's estimate on the game size or some such... given the millions of little interactions he puts into the game, the actual text count compared to Part 1 may be MUCH more than 50% bigger.

We may be looking at a Part 2 literally 20x bigger than any single part of the VN.
