The meter is too clunky to work around. You end up doing subpar damage until it fills up, and then you're on a timer.

Frankly, remove the phials as well. They don't add anything to the gameplay.

Or take a few notes from Charge Blade. Switching refills your phial, and using your "discharge" attack uses it up for a super effect. The discharge in axe mode is the super swing, and the discharge in sword mode is obviously the discharge.

I've been playing Frontier Taiwan recently. I got to the point where the free trial ends without too much trouble thanks to the OP (for the rank you get them at that is) weapons they give you. I'm still on the fence about subscribing though. From what I've been reading about G-rank, it's basically an entirely new game with its own currency even. I'm not sure if I can work up the will to farm up clown suits in a game with a million armor pieces I can't read. I've been told that you need a fuck ton of skill in Frontier G rank to survive.

Just stay on the cannons and load them, if its full go gather ballista ammo and shoot at him, once he's in range of the cannon go reload it again and again till the cannon ammo disappear. Then hit the switch to move the cannon and repeat the process. Use the demolisher or whatever it is taking the ammo from the chest and use the dragonator, there you go, you defeated lao in probably less than 20 minutes.

As a SA main i just crafted the silverwind set and never bothered to replace it.

Because that means i have to craft an endgame clownsuit to stack WE with critboost and criteye or something like that. Silverwind is PERFECT for switchaxe, but i bet there will be better options once you're in G5
