Should I install Zombie Awareness? Is it safe to remove if I don't like it?
I am going to start from the first version of Minecraft that I played and incrementally update every few days (or more frequently, depending on my enjoyment level). I wonder how far I'll get before I get too bored to continue.

Say at least 3 reasons or more about why we don't have a /mcg/ modpack yet?
>>171522127
because my mods > your mods
>>171522127
We'd never decide on a version.
We'd either throw so many mods in that it would be bloated and unplayable or we'd never decide on any mods and it would be so minimal it wouldn't be worth calling a mod pack.
No one would bother to keep the original up-to-date and everyone would keep posting their own version that would make it pointless.

not a full modpack, but it might be fun to have people contribute a bunch of structure schematics that you could addon to Recurrent Complex or Ruins or what have you, so even in singleplayer people could get a little /mcg/ in their gamesit would just be a pile of memes and swastikas tho
>>171527671
how are you liking Minecolonies so far?
>>171527890
One of my earliest thoughts since InfDev was wouldn't that be cool to have other player's structures be part of random generation.
Maybe we should do that if we don't do modpack.
>>171524846
>>171528018
It's a pretty interesting mod, what I do like is that you can pick between wood or stone oriented buildings. And they aren't free, you (and your workers later on) have to gather all the blocks for these buildings to be built and be upgraded.
It's basically mod where you build and expand a town. The purpose of these said colonies is pretty much gathering basic resources automatically whilst you're doing other things, provided if you give the workers the appropriate tools to use at their given levels.
>>171529025
And most workers can use TCon tools too. Again, only if it matches their building's level (like for example a building level of 0 can only use stone mining level tools, 1 for iron level, and so on).
>>171529025

A few new guns, including Vector SMG and Mac 10. Also every pistol including Mac 10 has a dual version now.
Haven't seen any problems myself, other than that the new grenades don't seem to have a crafting recipe.

If you have Botania and Thaumic Bases, you can use the Fel Pumpkin to get blaze powder then use TC alchemy to make the powder into rods.

-scar (cheaper than as50 but similar power)
-laser pistol
-boat
-dungeon bunker
-reworked mobs(dave, heli, steve, skeleton)
-2 chests
And what also was added and its my favourite are stormtroopers which have laser guns or blasters and have hazard ammo so the ammo absorbs most damage when attacking him.

It's more "enchant-able" then anything else, but wears out faster. Like you can get a better sharpness enchant on a gold sword than an iron sword (and I think even a diamond sword) without having to combine two enchanted swords at an anvil. But because gold items have less durability than iron they will break sooper quickly. Gold can also be used to make powered minecart rails for transport schemes, golden carrots and glistening melons for potion brewing, traded to the purple-robed testificates for emeralds (for what reason you might want to that, I don't know), and to make resource pyramids for beacon blocks.

Millenaire?
Oooh, what a nice looking building, I wonder what's inside.
>>171598430
Oh, it's a roguelike dungeon entrance.
>>171598001
Not even close
Millenaire has a lot of good shit, but the mod basically boils down to a hands-off item sink where the dumb little NPCs pull resources out of the ether or your pockets to incredibly slowly construct and upgrade their pre-built houses
The only interactions with the world a given village has is that they have to plant and cut down trees, farm physical mobs, and cook shit in furnaces, but even then there's still a lot of cheating involved
>>171596391
Nobody in their right mind would make a mod that complex rather than make a full game that they can sell.
>>171599075
Making a full game would be way more work
There's a reason most full games aren't that complex in the first place, and why the ones that try generally stay in early access forever until the devs give up
Having an existing framework for people to slap that kind of shit onto is basically the only way we ever get games this autistic
>>171598734
Minecolonies is alot less cheaty, since you and the NPCs have to actually gather the amount of resources for the structures and their upgrades.
>>171599602
Millenaire has the same requirement for building, it just doesn't make physical mineshafts to gather resources
Though those physical mineshafts are still a massive plus, since at least they can actually gather whatever they can find in your world, modded or not
Somewhat related, but I kinda wish you weren't the de facto dictator in minecolonies, there's something nice about having a monetary system for trade and being able to buy and sell things you need

Did you compare the recipes for fences and scaffolding?
>>171614473
1.7.10 fences: two steel ingots make 4 steel rods IIRC, 6 rods make 2 fences
1.10 fences: two steel rods + 4 steel ingots make 3 fences
1.7.10 scaffoldings: 3 steel ingots + 3 steel fences make 6
1.10 scaffoldings: 3 steel ingots + 3 steel rods make 6
It's about the same, 1.10 has more expensive fences but cheaper scaffoldings.
>>171599459
It wouldn't be more work to make a new game. Do you know how much coremodding would be required to make a Civ mod for this game?

>>171614028
Yes, only streamers and Youtubers who make enough money for top-end PCs can run them.
>>171615195

It doesn't fucking happen, because a small group of people just can't make a game like that happen from scratch
>>171615041
Unsatisfying.
On 1.7.10:
You need to make 12 Scaffoldings and 8 Fences for the first Crusher.
12 Scaffoldings require 6 steel ingots and 6 steel fences. 6 steel fences require 18 rods. You spend 10 steel to make 20 rods. So the 12 Scaffoldings cost 16 steel and give two leftover rods.
8 Fences cost 24 rods, which cost 12 steel.
This gives a total of 28 steel for the steel components, giving back two leftover steel rods and two scaffoldings.
On 1.10.2:
You need to make 12 Scaffoldings and 9 Fences for the first Crusher.
12 Scaffoldings require 6 steel ingots and 6 rods. You spend 4 steel to make 8 rods. The 12 Scaffoldings cost 10 steel, and give two leftover rods.
9 fences cost 12 steel ingots and 6 rods. You spend 2 steel ingots on four rods and use the two leftover from the scaffoldings. The fences cost 24 steel.
This gives a total of 24 steel for the steel components, giving back one leftover fence and two scaffoldings.
1.10.2 is the clear winner here because it doesn't leave you with leftover steel rods.
>>171616486
>The fences cost 24 steel

Despite having a lot of opportunities like being well known or having a big fanbase, it would be logical that they could try and get at least fans working on it but yet they keep it slow and in their own pace, which is nice but its been so long, it might lead nowhere. A lot of them do the same basic things as each other but most have a couple of tools or machines to differentiate themselves. If you're new to modding I'd say just throw a bunch of them in and experiment with them all desu.
Time to start making use of these rooms despite still doing construction. The electronics workshop will be here. Any machines used in circuit fabrication will go in here. Behind the walls will be a service area where I can run power cables out of sight. Still kinda low-tech using BC kinesis pipes but once I have more infrastructure i can upgrade that as I need too.
Something else I need to look into is a more reliable and steady power source, right now we are drawing from a single windmill which is hardly a trickle of power. Next step will prolly be steam but the issue with that is the fuel needed to keep it running.

Best quarry. It does not leave a chunk hole, it works inside game chunks, it makes underground tunnels a player can navigate, the separate tunnels link together underground, requires food and tools to work, it digs out ore it finds at required digging power of it's tools, runs at a pace a player would, and does not rely on power or magical meme energies. It will stop if it hits unfamiliar blocks on the main shaft, like anything from the WTF caves mod. Is the inventarium a good alternative to AE storage? How hard is it to make?
>>171706621
Oh apparently the statues have to be 3 blocks away from it or the pedestal won't draw from them.
Also the moment I put down Cthulhu, I got struck by lightning.
is there a decent biome mod that isn't BOP?
was flying in a straight line in creative and was getting fps drops from 60 to 45. it's pretty annoying and makes me not want to explore or travel.
I have a pretty decent rig so I'm a little surprised at the frame drops
>>171707295
Even though I'm not holding the necronomicon, strange shit can still happen as it and the pedestal keeps drawing power. Some ghast fire balls fell down here.
>>171707661
You will always get frame drops when generating new chunks, regardless of whether or not you use a biome mod.
It's best to pregenerate your chunks a ways out with admin commands toolbox.
Why isn't there a mod that has a wood version of that thaumcraft samurai armor
I wanna bushido it up with my fellow nihon-jin without having to be a grand wizard first
What addons would you recommend for someone who hasn't given Thaumcraft a proper try? Should I just go for no Thaum addons at all?
>>171708324
TC addons generally add a bunch of separate trees that go off and do their own thing, so not really necessary
>>171707826
Oh god, that's not good.
>>171708048
>pregenerate your chunks
wait so I can enter a command and it will generate every chunk near me and just keep expanding?
>>171708847
Might be a good idea to wall this off.
>>171708913
Every chunk in a square centered around spawnpoint/the coords you enter.
I usually do a radius of 128, which is 256 x 256 chunks.
>>171708913
get AdminCommandsToolbox. in world, you run
>/pregenspawn <radius in chunks to generate>
so /pregenspawn 10 will pregenerate a 10-chunk area centered on spawn's chunk.
that example area is quite small, maybe 320 blocks. if you wanted to pregen an area that's quite large, then you'll be looking for something like 50 chunks, so 100 chunks across giving about 1.6k blocks across. from -800 to 800, assuming spawn is at 0,0.
>>171710102
huh that's pretty cool I didn't even think about being able to pregenerate chunks
would the game break if I wanted to try and let it pregen chunks overnight? like can I set it to some huge number and fuck off for 6 hours then never have to worry about generating chunks again?
>>171709156

>>171712658
You kinda have to babysit them, and provide them with tools (they even accept TCon tools), and resources since they can only really gather resources and not craft the stuff they need themselves..
I hate poison.
>>171712658
Anon you just need to realize that trains aren't worth it
Unless you can walk around inside them you're essentially just playing with a trainset and practicing trainwatching, which are two of the highest and oldest forms of autism, and not the good kind

>>171713478
Except you can, theres Rails of War for walking inside them and theres even Zora no Densha for whatever that buggy shit does.
1.7.10 lives only by the power of techguns and trains, so basically pure autism.
Looks like the statues are done.
>>171713734
This is the next thing we have to craft, the transmutation gem, so we can craft shards of oblivion.
>>171713732
Rails of war is super hacky and the insides of the cars have zero functionality
You're essentially still just looking at the trains, just with modeled interiors
You'd be better off trying to make something that looks like a train with archimedes ships or whatever the hell it's called now
>>171710765
QuarryPlus itself has a block breaker dude
>>171714620
You are just asking too much, the insides of the carts are well designed and have good details, plus I dont know what functionality you can have on a train where you are supposed to sit and travel, unless you mean the personal wagons which iirc have crafting tables, beds, furnaces, etc. Of course its not much but I think its as functional as a train can get since they are not meant to be really functional but to be comfy (gotta admit RoW is midly buggy)
>Trains with archimedes
It only works for water, and Im sure you wont be able to make something decent with it, especially that it will be made with full sized blocks.
>>171715227
I'm not giving up my precious enderpearls for this situationally useful cunt, or wasting the effort automating it.

Some things can greatly add to comf
I want to be able to get on a train to go somewhere, sit down inside it, turn on a jukebox, pull a book off a bibliocraft shelf and read while I wait
And if I'm remembering right, those cars with stuff in them are just aesthetic only and not functional, which is almost worse

It's a pain in the butt to set up; I haven't used AE, but i don't imagine it's easier. It's certainly slower. I still like it because the magic is just that it tells golems to do all the work, instead of mystical computer pipes or however AE is explained.
If you have a nice way to get all your junk *into* chests, without blocking the golems retrieving stuff, then it's probably quite nice. i've been using greedy chests and they are the clickfest of clickdoom.

One of the head faggots want to turn it into an rpg but no one at mojang understands what the word design means.
>>171716507
Well, you are kinda right that they can be improved, I tought RoW had personal wagons but thats RC and RC models are good but are not sized for a player.
What you want can be made easily with Zora no Densha/RoW or even TC, if those thing are not in the mod put some music on yt and bring a book from home, what you ask seems more similar to a movable multiblock base which seems logical and doable in Ships, spaceships or planes like Archimedes, Advanced Rocketry, Warp Drive or Valkyiran Warfare but its not that easy to pull of for trains.
>>171719257
Is there at least some indication that a monster is about to attack now? That's really all the combat needed in the first place.

That kind of Chisel Sandstone was picked mainly because of the "small bricks" texture. There are only a handful of blocks that have this texture (Chisel Stone and Quarried Stone, for example), so I'm glad that Chisel Sandstone also has one.
I like how it looks too. The pale yellow color is perfect for the desert colors and the adobe stone look.

Those shrines, especially empty ones, won't spawn Eldritch Guardians until you're VERY warpy. I'm playing in a desert that has two Obsidian Obelisks and I only have met them once ever.
>>171728272
>Those shrines, especially empty ones, won't spawn Eldritch Guardians until you're VERY warpy.
hold on, is there a way to spawn more guardians, or are you talking about that fog event? (or do these shrines increase the chance of this happening?)
>>171728472
Yep. I read it on a TC4 wiki that the fog event becomes really frequent if you're high on the Eldritch shit. There's also a rare chance where Obsidian Obelisks can spawn Guardians alongside Furious Zombies. Both instances of Guardian spawns (obelisk spawns and fog events) had happened to me.
That reminds me, I need a SAN check. I notice that the warp symptoms are intensifying. No plans on warding them off. It's kinda fun facing the warp events.
