Ok /feg/ I need some advice.

I've been using a horse emblem team for a bit and I've come to this conclusion.

-Rein(5*): Destroys everything except green tomes and fliers.

-Cain(5*): deals with greens and non blue fliers.

-Gunter(4*): buffs and tanks lances.

-Eliwood(4*): sits back and does nothing. Redundant 2nd sword. Too crap to rush in the frontlines and actually use his cav buff. Only his res is decent to tank mages ocasionally.

I have a 5* neutral Elise who is very cute and lv40, and I've been thinking of merging Eliwood into her, giving her Ward cavalry which she can use whlie attacking from range. Her fire balm also buffs attack, and her owna ttack and speed are higher than Eli's.

What do you think? What A skill would be good? +HP? She's a bit lacking in that department. Also, would other skills be better than her own as far as attack/heal/special go?


Alternatively I could promote Eli to 5* but he doesnt seem to be worth it.

Do we know what the next banner is going to be or what units are coming?

This is my Defense team too because I'm still developing people.

So out of boredom and curiosity, I decided to see if there was anything Linde wouldn't be able to ORKO in this game in terms of raw stats (i.e. ignoring skills and weapon triangle) and a Nino-style setup in her favor.

The answer is no.

Base ATK for a +10 +ATK Linde: 42
Blarblade+: +13 (55)
Life and Death 3: +5 (60)
+4ATK/DEF/Speed/RES: +20 (80)
Spur ATK 3 on an adjacent unit: +4 (84)

You also hit 49 speed with all of this.

With Desperation 3, you get both hits in before the enemy can retaliate once, and you can activate it with hilarious ease via Ardent Sacrifice.

Let me underline how completely unstoppable Linde is now with a comparison.

A Julia from Fire Emblem 4 who got literally as much HP as possible (24 base +38 from level ups) and capped every other relevant stat would have 64 HP, 30 Speed, and 27 RES. After factoring in weight penalties, the Book of Naga would result in her having 38 speed and 47 RES.

Linde with Desperation 3 up would do 37 damage a hit and hit twice for 74 damage.


A unit with 64 HP, 47 RES, and 38 Speed would STILL get killed by Linde without being able to fire back (assuming both hits connect, which has to be done considering FEH has 100% accuracy).

I think literally the only way you can make something not die to full-power Linde is to either give it blue tomebreaker or triangle adept, and have it be green. And in the former case you still need to be extremely durable on the magic end to survive.

So while FE4 Julia dies without being able to attack back, a neutral-IV FEH Julia with Blue Tomebreaker (assuming no +3 RES passive or Naga) survives with 2 HP left and one-shots her to hell.

How do you even outdo Linde in terms of mage quality? How?

I've been working a similar CavalMeme team with the following:

Main damage carry, I gave him Vantage 3 and Moonbow since he'll be in the heat of battle often
>Elise 5*
Fire-Balm is great for getting aggro, and I've added Hone Atk 3 on to her so she could constantly buff teammates. Probably gonna sack on HP +5 when I can since the only thing she lacks compared to most healers is decent HP
>Cain 5* We're on the same boat, don't know how I'm gonna boost him up though

For a forth horsee I was thinking Eliwood just because the anti-mage kit and boosts to other horsee can be helpful but I dunno, future GHB will give us much better mounted sword users.

Cain is overshadowed by Eliwood, Eldigan and soon Xander. He's better for his inheritance. Don't "wall" with a cav meme team.
Gunter, as awesome as his art is, is best when he passes Hone Cavalry on to someone else. Cecilia is ultimately the better green unit to have on the team.
Your Eliwood only sucks because he's 4*. Giving him Durandal makes a massive difference to his killing power and good Res along with Sacred Cowl lets him tank all those tomes you're afraid of.

The best horse team currently is
Reinhardt (with Hone Cavalry)
Ursula (with Blarblade+)
Cecilia (with Triangle Adept 3 + Fortify Cavalry)
Eliwood/Eldigan (with Hone Cavalry) OR a dancer

Reinhardt is backup and buff.
Ursula is massive, but Goad/Ward doesn't work: she needs the Hone/Fortify.
Cecilia with Gronnraven +20% getting +6 Atk/Spd from Hone Cavalry destroys any colorless and blue. Eve more with something like Darting Blow 3 or Death Blow 3.
Eliwood/Eldigan are your red unit and back-up Hone if you don't wan't Rein to lose his Ward. They're also massively powerful and tank Mage/Melee respectively. OR, you can just toss a dancer in 4th slot and have Ursula/Cecilia OHKO something else again.

I have all these great build ideads that I haven't done because of not having an easy way to plan them.

I need some opinions:

Snacki with Raourblade+ and Darting blow okay? She'll have 50 attack and 36 speed on leading attack. Alternatively I could give her Life and Death for 55 attack/35 speed with defense losses. Shes +spd =res

Eliwood, Since Durandal gives a Deathblow-2 effect, would the Deathblow 3 passive not stack with the weapon? would it override to +6 and not add as +10? I had plans to give him Quick Ripotse or some other B skill, because I'm not sure if he needs the Axebreaker with that setup. If the Deathblow plan doesn't work, would Darting blow will work? he has +speed nature.

Speaking of cavarly teams, may I interject about how bad Olwen is?

- She comes as a promoted unit with 24hp and 4 def (when mounted)
- Her personal tome weighs her down immensely
- The above two points mean she can't take a hit, and even on the player phase you need to be careful because any 99% miss could mean her death
- 8 move outdoors -> 5 move indoors
- Bad with swords; can't use magic swords and even her personal sword comes too late
- No skills
- If she's dead you can get Ilios, a unit with 40 hp and 10 def and Sol
- Story-wise she fights against Leaf's army yet is so incompetent that she can't identify who she's fighting against
- Got her job due to her family, not her own efforts
- Is a stupid bitch
- Also sucks in Heroes
- Needs to be fed many heroes to actually hit something

Olwen actually is more overpowered than Linde now.
Base ATK for a +10 +ATK Olwen is 34.
Blarblade+ puts that up to 47, Life and Death 3 knocks it to 52.

But since she's on a horse, you can get higher total buffs onto her via the Hone Cavalry and Fortify Cavalry skills, meaning you end up with +30 ATK total from buffs as opposed to Linde's +20. So you end up with 2 more ATK compared to Linde and still have the same speed stat, while being less fragile and with 3 movement because you're on a horse.

And if you don't want to spend 20k feathers on an Odin, just stick with Dire Thunder.

34 ATK with +10 and with +ATK, +9 from the tome, +5 from Life and Death 3, and then +6 from Hone Cavalry leaves you with 54 ATK, and that's without factoring in another +4 from Spur Cavalry.

Meanwhile, you'll still hit 40 speed (44 speed with Spur Cavalry).

And all of this with a brave tome.

Here's the best Cavalry Team now and in the future, likely:

Ursula and Cecilia are the nuclear powerhouses and stay.
Eliwood and Eldigan are excellent for their power and Res/Def but Xander is coming and he's a total monster and likely will overshadow them.

No matter what, Gunter's Hone Cavalry and Jagen's Fortify Cavalry need to be on the team and not on Ursula. It sounds like Ursula is hyper-essential, but frankly on a buffed cav team, they are ALL nightmares to deal with and very hard to kill without specific, and very different, counters.

Pivot is more for getting buffers to travel great distances and fill in holes in formations, I've found it ridiculously useful on Eirika for that reason. Reposition on something already highly mobile like a flier is better for tossing armors and other laggy things over gaps, while the Armors themselves(and many other tanky things) want to use Swap to sub in for a squishy frontliner most of the time. They're all best suited for different things.

Drag Back on something as mobile as Eliwood is fantastic, especially if you're running a bunch of tome cavs. I think Armored Blow might actually better for him to cover his awful defense while he's rushing something to take advantage of his sword's attack bonus, but he certainly has the speed to use Darting effectively with the Hone Cavalry buff from another ally. I was actually gonna put my second Hone Cavalry on Cecilia with my extra Gunter, using a spare Nino to get Green Blades and start working on Hone Attack so I can take Harsh Command at the same time from him.
