You should just follow Rance's advice and be super aggressive. Personally, I recommend steering right and trying to declare war on Houjou and Uesugi, preferably at the same time. If you take your time, Takeda will conquer one of them. Uesugi is more useful, so try to cut through Asai Asakura and/or Miko Institute.
Tokugawa is pretty tough anyways, so you should declare war on them too. What you can do is tear through to Tokugawa's last province, and attack it (expect to lose). For all battles afterwards, their powerful uniques will be in normal battles and are captureable. Capture 3 or so and you should be able to conquer Tokugawa's final province. The Tokugawa commanders should help with the battles in the northeast.
so Tokugawa until last province -> Miko + Asai-Asakura -> Uesugi is my recommendation. Imagawa is a joke so you can take them out if you feel comfortable with more.
You should also try to 20+ commanders with average stats at least five or six as soon as possible so start recruiting from the local events/jail

Why doesnt Alicesoft, or any other Japanese company, just get a deal with steam or any other digital distribution platform in the west, hire like two translators and one programmer to get the english subs and UI in and then sell all of their nukige.

1. Many companies either don't know there's a market here, don't have the capital to break into it, or don't want to bother taking their business in that direction/introducing extra risk.

There have been horror stories in the past where westerners just didn't "get" Japanese game/eroge culture and denounced it as degenerate, evil, etc. See the Rapelay scandal, see how alicesoft.com is Japan Only, etc. Only recently has this cultural frost begun to thaw and almost entirely with softcore games, or games from doujin circles who have nothing to lose.

3. The market isn't as big as you're letting on. It doesn't matter if billions speak English, how many of those billions are actually in these games' target markets? That kind of research doesn't really even exist, and if it does the average Japanese eroge maker either doesn't have access to it, or doesn't care about it.

4. It's not as simple as you might think. Shit like "Just hire like two translators and a programmer" is what got us NES-era "you're are winner" crap. Couple that with the fact that these games are, at their heart, visual novels with a lot of text, and that ups the cost and time required to find good translators, etc. And if a developer decides instead to go through a localization company, they'd have to work out some kind of licensing deal - again, not always desirable.

5. Finally, business culture, particularly Japanese business culture, is not keen on taking unnecessary risks. If you're an eroge company, you look at the eroge market in Japan and think "wow, there's a lot of potential for growth here". More importantly, it's low-risk growth: you don't need to market in different languages, you can deal with outlets you know and who are experienced with companies like you. It's a very low risk environment where repeats of the same shit sell consistently. So why rock the boat by turning to the West? Simply put, many companies don't think it's even worth it.

If you create your own localization team, that means you're partly in the localization business. This is not a lucrative business and isn't attractive to investors. It also introduces unnecessary risk and threatens to divert the vision of the company away from making games and towards localizing/publishing.

Also, this is not something most eroge devs CAN attempt, even if they want to. Remember that endeavors like localizing cost resources and humans are the most expensive resource of all.

Except that's kinda been disproved time and time again. Unless you're a big ass company like Visual Arts or FrontWing, usually a Japanese company self-localizing drops in standard because they try to translate it themselves when they have a shaky grasp of the language. And even then, Visual Arts have shown that they themselves still can screw the pooch when it came to Harmonia. Not only that but simultaneous release is ridiculous when they have to spend time on a crap localization to cater to a crowd that might not even be 1/5th of their own market. And they would have to sell it at the exact same price as their local release or they undercut themselves.

Reminder that the average eroge price in Japan is about $80 compared to the $60 at best in the West. And even then, most of the market wouldn't even touch anything at that price because they been trained to ignore anything over $15 due to Steam and because Visual Novels aren't considered "real games" most of the time.

From experience, System4 is not friendly to touchscreens (Windows 8 laptop).
But you'd have to port System4 to android or ios which would be a heavy time investment
