Well, the guy up there said they were showing off one playstyle, which he called "Modern Sonic." Because Classic is in, it's safe to assume the next playstyle is classic. He also said that it's "Sonic vs Eggman." so... Modern, Classic and Eggman.

There are two sides in this game, good and evil. I doubt Sonic Team is going to make a new, fast character, but it isn't outside their retardation. So, Evil Modern might be Shadow... although it doesn't fit with his G.U.N. Gimmick. It would be a shame to see some donut come in for this.

The new character is likely the classic counterpart.

I avoided the PS360 version for years assuming I had the best version of the game, only to find that I was playing something with worse controls, far weaker level design, and missing levels.

It's super early to tell, but I don't think they'll be able to make something different enough from it to make it feel fresh, and to fix some of the criticism people had about it (without trashing what made it fun!).

I don't know. That, coupled with some of the other things that I perceive as negative, and how much I wanted this to... be different and feel like it could succeed, make me apprehensive.

Boost is fine.

Honestly, they needed to go back to a well-received style and right now, outside of Classic, boost is the only style still regarded as positive.

Sonic needs to rebuild his rep after Lost World's failed gameplay experiment and Boom turning out the way it did. The one-two combo of a proper Classic Sonic game and a Boost game should put Sonic in good graces again.

Plus, there's still a third style we don't know about yet, so who knows what it will hold.

People are complaining about the return of Boost, but honestly it's all that I'm comfortable trusting Sonic Team with right now. They need to get back on their feet after the travesty that was Lost World.
Sure, I'd love to see something more Adventure-like, or even something like Utopia, but in order to get back to where they were in 2011 they need to take one step forward after their one step back. I'm happy and I'm plenty hyped.

I'm assuming this is a boost game. The problem with the werehog is unleashed is that it completely kills the games momentum since you go from Day stages that can be completed in 4 minutes to night stages that take 10 to 20 mins.

Would that potential Sonic Mania vinyl be in the Collector's Edition or a separate thing?

Regardless of boost or whatever... I wish this was a much clearer sign that Project 2017 Forces was going to be, you know, solid. I'm just really tired of having to be suspicious about it and having to hold back because of the feel they're going to come out with something out of left field and completely ruin it.

So, now that Mania is going to take fucking forever to come out, it's time to work on finishing the five main series Sonic games I have yet to %100. What should I do first?
