The mini-update in JP shows the scenes from the trailer, but it's unconnected to what Player is doing.

I think that those scenes are flashbacks to χ[chi], Unchained χ being the Realm of Sleep.

Going by the Union χ opening, it seems like the story leading up to the war won't change much, but we may get new scenes that shed light on what's really happening.

Final fantasy mobage.

Just played Union Cross at PAX. Some things that aren't obvious from the trailer.

There are time rush challenges during missions. Two we encountered were kill 50 gift shadows in a minute and kill a very OP Invisible in some amount of time. We failed the gift shadow challenge, but cleared the Invisible. I think there was an extra reward at the end of the mission but can't be sure.

Enemies attack when you clear use all your medals, so they attack party members individually, not all at once. It's possible to plan your attacks and buffs this way.

If you die in a fight, your party members can Rez you. A little counter pops up over your floating body with a timer. The counter is higher every time you die in a mission. It seems you help people by tapping on them, each player can lower the counter once. If the timer runs out before you rez, you can pay jewels to come back. This mechanic still seemed buggy though.

You can make a load out of pre made phrases before each mission.

The guy running the booth said we should expect to see other familiar faces besides Ven in Cross.

Also he gave a long squirmy explanation about how they haven't put brooms in because they want to keep it balanced.

Feel free to ask me questions but I'll be wandering around PAX so it may be awhile before I answer. I might go back later to try and explore the demo more.

Alot of the starting premiums started at 10. I know I had to resort to the Guaranteed pull for iKairi, so I'm glad people here repeatedly told me to save.

I think the only time they reduce it to 5 is when they release multiple banners, like when they did iXion, HD Axel, and Casual Roxas (Which also had to resort to Guaranteed Pull) at the same time.

In what way? At least 358/2 was an actual Action RPG with choices left up to the player on how to play and skill involved in the end regarding dodging and placement. X is basically luck of the draw if you can even keep up with things and strategy amounts to just getting the best Keyblade you have, the best buff and debuff medals you have, attack medals, ideally all with Guilt applied, with the best skills you can acquire against an enemy weak to that element.

How do I undo a defense debuff on myself? I know I can do a defense buff, but thats practically useless against a level 3 debuff.

CoM didn't have real money transactions, but it did use a shop system with randomized packs.

And you don't HAVE to just brute force your way through the game. Just like any other KH game, especially CoM, you can strategize and create setups with what you have that can be more effective than you might think.

Yes, but you're again reliant on the medals you get from the paid currency and the very rare event medals that are actually good. If you have terrible luck such as not even having a gen 2 buff or gen 3 buff, any of the attribute buffs, Alice/Belle/Anti-Form/Namine, or awful Guilt rerolls you are at an immense disadvantage, especially with the bosses and latter story mode missions. Look at the Marluxia B event as an example, if you didn't hit a certain threshold for your Keyblades (21+) along with having decent medals then you couldn't Guilt the thing due to all the requirements and he plays an enormous amount of importance in an F2P deck. Look at how bosses basically require a Minnie with DB2 to get by safely, and you still have to deal tons of damage to them somehow. Before I got Sebastian and SP1 I was basically struggling to even beat 140ish enemies with my gen 1 buff being the highest.

With CoM you can go through the entire game just with the base Keyblade cards as your attacks, and you can also just make due with whatever you get thrown towards you. With X it's like you're wholly reliant on friend medals and the decent event medals thrown your way to just do normal story levels. If you roll terribly every time then what the hell are you going to do? What if that Jack roll was 50% all three times? What if that Marluxia B roll was 50%? What if you can't clear the Adamantite missions to buff your Keyblades? It took months for me to actually manage to get past the hump of the second mission and that was just because we got Meowjesty due to all my garbage pulls over and over.

The strategies you can pull off are wholly reliant on how much luck you have and either how much money you put into the game or how much time you delay doing anything substantial.

She's perfect. Think of Xigbar B, Master Xehanort and other high gauge medals. You can now use them without worrying about gauge with her on your Keyblade or as a shared medal. Also frees you up to put AB2/3 Max on those medals.

Alright, that's a good point but there are already other gauge recharge medals, although they don't recover that much.
The biggest issue is that you'd want to put it first for the buff/debuff but also last for the heal and gauge recovery.
