Wow, 'Your Name' (君の名は) was amazing. I am/was completely disinterested in modern anime, so it's really nice to see something that can prove me wrong. Kind of shocking to look up this guy's stuff and realize it never gets brought to America, though.

As for vita stuff, I just realized that of all the games I've played, I've yet to find something that really has a good balance of story and gameplay. All the stuff with good stories seem to be wrapped up in VNs, and the good action games tend to have stories so bad I'd rather skip through them.

Any recommendations that have a nice amount of both?

Even though what was released was good, I cannot shake the feeling that it was only 50% of Freedom Wars.

The Dragon Abductor never appeared in the story, only an optional mission, but there are already cutscenes made featuring the Dragon Abductor.
There is only one Abductor escort mission, which means they had plans to make more.
The invasion missions are all the same, even though higher PT are classed as higher risk but from lowest to highest they are the same difficulty and one NPC mentions buffing up PT security because top rank PTs are HVT.
Also, the Accessory love story was practically absent aside from your ACC speaking more foundly of you and that NPC that is grossed out by people who love their ACC.

Honestly, considering the DPS/Healer/Tank structure of the Thorns I'd bet on a Stealth type thorn maybe. Something to influence aggro or simply hide-away and increase Critical rate. Hacking does sound pretty cool though.

It has a rough start with lots of grinding if you decide to play on hard. It has pretty interesting systems like customising your guardian or deciding if you attack with your guardian or if you attack by yourself. The plot hasn't been anything special yet and the characters haven't been the most interesting. Underboobs and wide hips are great though. For something like 20$/€ it's good enough I think.
