Ouma would be a rehash of Junko and basically just the fake backstory that's in the game played out. DICE would be ultimate despairs, he did it for the giggles/because he was bored, etc etc. Worse than Tsumugi, his in-game role is better.

I wanted Amami to be the mastermind. As a survivor who went through one (normie) killing game before and had his suffering broadcasted to everyone, he kidnaps 15 other beloved/famous students and makes them all kill each other out of revenge and as protest for the gifted system giving them special privileges.

Shinguji would be a cool mastermind, if a bit obvious, if he did it entirely to observe the beauty of humans living in complete despair and chaos. Basically like if Komaeda ran a killing game- he wants beauty to come out of hopelessness.

Here's what I don't get. There's not only at least two other survivors from V2, but there at least two from all the other games previous. That's a lot of survivors hanging around if these games were yearly before V3.

It's weird Tsumugi makes absolutely no mention of the other survivors of the rest of the games considering the emphasis that she puts on the cast choosing to participate out of selfishness/insane fanboying/personal gain. If she really wanted to hammer in that their suffering was all just a part of a manufactured celebrated cultural tradition, why not show the previous survivors living like celebrities and flaunting their gained wealth from the game? Why not show that selfishness and greed are at the core of these games and what they're built on by displaying the winners and their success built on their friends deaths?

It makes me think something happened to the other two survivors that really put a wrench in the games publicity, which made Tsumugi want to ignore them entirely.

Personally I don't believe all of them had their personalities entirely switched. I think some had traits in common with their SHSL selves with some exaggerated and some added in. Shirogane only showed the contrasting traits from the audition videos (if those are even real) for maximum ZETSUBOU.

Amami seems to be the put-together, distant, sort of uncooperative person he is in game from his few lines in the prologue.

Given Hoshi's hair, manner of dress and (maybe candy) cig, I'd wager he was a delinquent with a heart of gold type.

Kirumi was probably a responsible, care-taking type but poor at cooking and other household chores, so she was given a major upgrade.

I can't really see Himiko as anything but similar to her in game personality from her expressions/posture in the prologue CG, honestly. Maybe less lazy and chuuni, but still a blunt, apathetic girl.

I think Maki was the athletic type because it wouldn't cause too much dissonance to make her a super assassin post brainwashing without any physical enhancements. Given her fancy-looking school uniform, she probably went to a more posh school, suggesting a pretty smart girl.
