That used to be true, anon, but now to have any sort of consistency in pulling off Roach combos, one has to give up most of their early game face pokes and board control, and that is absolutely dreadful because it gives the opponent more than enough time to set up whatever their own win con is and stay alive until several turns later than they would have before.

If you keep the strong early game, then you don't pull Roach lethals on any regular basis.

It's really that simple. Changing Gobu and Piercing Rune did a whole hell of a lot of good for the health of the format.

I do still consider it a transitional list, and they may or may not both stay. When you look at it it doesn't seem to work but it actually does. First of all you can fake aggro if you get decent pulls then surprise the opponent with a Kamura or Goblinmount. The important pulls are Kamura and Morde anyway. Howl and Cerb help push in extra damage. Plus if you manage to pull the mummies late game it's free damage too because you got souls for days after playing Nep.

You drop a 2/3 to remove 3 cards that were 1/1 1/1 1/1 so it becomes a 5/6, so the stats on the board are the same, but it's just put into the 2/3 ward because you had no plays from hand before they were able to play three turns. You are a retard. If you have a 5/6 on board, it means that, for you to prevent taking any face damage at all, you have to be able to deal 6 damage to that follower. If you instead have a 2/3 and 3 1/1s, pretty much any damage you deal to the board will be reducing the amount of face damage they can deal you. That's the problem with AE.
