I guess the big question now is how is Zelda fighting Ganon? Was she sealed away like Link and woke up a bit earlier than him? Yes there's only 4 on the plateau. It's confirmed that after you complete all 4 the 'Old Man' gives you the paraglider.

It's safe to say that the 'Old Man' reveals himself as The King when he gives you the paraglider and then tells you to go kick Ganon's ass (probably telling you to do it when you are ready).

Right, the tapestry isn't about the prophesy, but it's a warning. So long ago there was a battle where they managed to kill Ganon, Link, Zelda and the Shiekah Guardians, along with the four divine beasts.

But the King at the time feared the tech and so he banished the Shiekah and had the tech buried. Many years later, the new King hears about how Ganon will return and so he brings the Shiekah back from exile and they dig up the guardians and divine beasts.

Ganon, having already been defeated by them once, knew to corrupt them instead of letting it happen a second time. Pretty smart.

Even TP got a higher ESRB rating than this. What'll probably happen is that everyone who died fighting Ganon will be revived at the end.

Even if the Champions aren't resurrected, there's no way in hell they'd kill Zelda off for good. Worst case scenario is that she and Link will live and rebuild the kingdom; best case is them using the Triforce to wish everyone and everything back to life, just like at the end of LTTP with Link's uncle.

I think maybe Aonuma's initial comment was more because the main canon is essentially anything that involves Link, Zelda & Ganon. Most of the others are just side adventures. Even if TFH was a more standard Zelda, many of the titles have little to no impact on the central lore, as they are just Link's adventures outside Hyrule.

The only Zelda games that have true timeline significance are the console games (except Four Swords Adventures, and just barely Majora's Mask).

It's interesting that Ganon is described as "cunning", since afaik most of the downflal timeline games pretty much portray him as just a mindless beast or manifestation of evil who's pretty much lost all humanity and intelligence. In AlttP he had already won before the game started. He just had to wait out his banishment until he figured out he could fuck with Hyrule from the Dark World. He was also ironically better spoken than Ganondorf in any of the 3D games.

He's halfway to victory in the original game too, since he's completely taken over Death Mountain when you start, you just prevent him from getting to the rest of Hyrule.

The 3D games are where "Ganon" is a more beastial/desperate form. In the 2D games Ganon is pretty smart and one hell of a wizard. I think the only exception is the Oracles Linked ending where they fuck up his resurrection.

The fact that Ganon doesn't try physical attacks as much is smarter on his part. Link outclasses him when it comes to swordplay and Link is even shown to be stronger than him physically when they lock swords and push against eachother.

He's much more versatile when turning invisible, using magic to alter terrain, summoning enemies to distract Link, etc.

Welp, looking at the article again, yeah, it seems it was just a Bokoblin skull. So it seems that is it. I guess the issue is that they were worried that if enemies weren't mostly humanoids dropping weapons for you, then you would be short on weapons a lot.

It still looks like there is a good variety, but it sucks to not have enemies like Dodongos or Redeads, which is a double shame because the Redeads in TP had those sweet claymores, why couldn't we just get those guys back?

As long as they are plenty interactive with the world it should be fine, but people like to experience a lot of different kinds of enemies

At least the different types of Guardians actually feel like different enemies, even if listed under the Guardian name in the files.

I just wish we could have gotten Tektites and Redeads and more of the non-humanoid enemies. I mean, how can you have an area with the name RIVER OF THE DEAD and not have a Redead or Poe? It's not like Nintendo hasn't had both Poe and Wizzrobes in the same game before.

Well it is for me. The fact that Wind Waker, a 2002 game, has more enemies than a 2017 game with a x12 bigger world is pretty bad
