It's literally only an upgrade against Scouts, but not really because the SMG actually does damage. The extra damage from explosives makes the DDS shit. Against Scouts I have no problems because I'm a pro sniper. Forcing a Spy to use his revolver turns it into the same situation as a Scout where I can just wrek him with a single headshot.
