I wrote a very rushed post last thread about dark souls story, that it is essentially a religious origin story. It's borrowing heavily from greek & jewish stories like prometheus, eden, tower of babel, etc. Partially about how mankind recieved recieved the wisdom of the gods (ie the lord soul/dark soul), primarily about the gods reactions to this, which historically, even within the old testament, is fear, because the wisdom of the gods, the fire, gives mankind the ability to compete with and usurp them. This fear is so strong that yahweh keeps the tree of life, which grants immortality, protected by cherubim, and the act of giving manking the fire is such a treaterous sin that prometheus was sentenced to eternal torture for commiting it.

Where do I go with this build?

I have all the stats I need for the equipment and spells I'm using
Vig and End don't seem worth it, because I'll only be able take a fraction of an extra hit or throw a fraction of an extra swing before hitting the caps
A few points of attunement is a possibility for one more cast of Med Heal, but it won't actually help me in immediate combat, which is where I'm struggling
Faith seems kind of weak and again doesn't help me in combat without quite heavy investment
Str/Dex is the standard, but is quite an investment and ruins my perfect exact stat requirements
And to top it all off, while I'm happy with the Lothric Knight Sword I don't know if the Hollowslayer is a wise choice and I certainly don't know if dual wielding is worth it, though it feels like it has been

Basically I have a lot of options and all of them feel like the wrong one

Why does pvp seem so much more fun at lower levels?

The variety is more evident at lower levels. Also, invasions mostly are really uncomfortable situations, where usually the host are totally "unprepared", so it requires a lot more creativity to pull off something to survive. Ornstein was the Captain of the Four Knights, and he was trained by the Gwyn's Firstborn himself. He was most likely the one to decide who gets to enter their club. That would pretty much answer that because it's obvious that for Smough to join them, it would require him to be trained by Ornstein, but I want to get a bit more into that.

When we reach the Anor Londo cathedral, we fight both of them, right? If you kill Smough first, you'll noticed that Ornstein wasn't really happy about you killing him, in fact, he was really upset that you killed his pupil. He could be one of his trustful knights, maybe he was changing his gory ways, who knows? But no, the player character denied him his chance to become something greater than a vicious cannibal.

Now, if you defeat Ornstein first, Smough will actually strike the killing blow on him, kinda brutally, showing that he wasn't ok with being held outside the Kinght's inner circle by Ornstein, for not being ready yet to join them.

That's why I think that their relationship was one of master and pupil.

No, it replaced what everyone was calling hyper armor. More weapons have it now, and it's active during more frames, but it's based off your actual poise stat. Basically, you don't get poise or the ability to trade unless you're using weapons greatsword and heavier, or certain weapon arts.

Also beat my first invader. He was real nice and dropped a miracle for me to heal before battle. Proved itself useful for after winning.
