I love the Berserker GBs pulls. Especially the fact that they do a fair amount of damage too.

The amount of fuckery you can do by placing traps everywhere is fun too, especially in 4v4's. Place a bear trap where I'm fighting the Orochis, throw them off. Place a stun trap there, run up and throw them off.

Berzerk is the single most "oh jesus christ fucking run" ability in the game. A Berzerk'd Berserker WILL two-shot you and not give a singular fuck what character you are playing. If they get 2 hits off on you, you are dead. Especially if they run Sharpened Blades, then they just need to graze you once if you're below full health and they can just change target to someone else because you're now bleeding to death.

So what do you think the advantages/disadvantages of KB+M/Controller?

Been playing with controller because wasn't expecting to take the game super seriously and wanted to be able to chill but considering switching over.

I don't see any glaring faults with controller since it's not an FPS and it was designed for it but I'd like to hear from some KB+M players what the advantages are.

Can you think of the last equally skilled opponent that allowed you to pull off an attack combo? I can't. l+l+h, l+l+l, h+l+l, never go through. And guess what, those combos are supposed to be our main source of damage. So we can't deal damage either because we are too slow or the general playerbase is "skilled" enough to move the block angle to the right spot in 0.5 seconds - that's not exactly difficult. Face it, Valk speed is shit. Play her in the campaign for an hour and you'll be crying when you go into MP the next time.

And yes, the reach is shit. Valk always holds the spear by the end when striking and in the middle when defending so, considering the whole thing is about 2-3 inches shorter than her, she should easily be able to reach a Nobushi at max range. But she can't.

What is the actual impact of gear stats, at higher levels specifically? I'm not sure if damage or defense stats matter that much, and revenge seems to build up for me so fast even without boosts to it I'm not sure that matters much either.

Feint and open with light attacks.
Once people get used to your feints you can start opening with heavies.

You have to be good at spacing/positioning so any punishes your opponent does pull off are less devastating.
And most important of all is being unpredictable. Even the 'best' move in the game can be your downfall if you constantly rely on it. Never have a favourite move or chain.

If you know your character back to front and your opponent doesn't then you shouldn't have problem catching them off guard with off meta setups.

I'm going to assuming you're talking about Conq, because Warlord's headbutt is so fast that it's impossible to consistently dodge.

The problem with Conq's shield bash is that him missing it doesn't punish him at all. If you try to attack, he'll just block it, and if you GB him he can tech it. It's an entirely safe way to engage, and results in guaranteed damage if you land it.

It's like... when everything is stable, the gameplay experience is great, no perceptible lag unless the other person is literally playing on a Nokia N-Gage, which is rare enough for me to count on one hand having played about 120 hours of this by now.

But the stability is the issue. You don't get to enjoy that lag-free gameplay when the game just disconnects at the start of a match.
