Is easy to win with Iop, they are just like their lore. Just rush rush rush before they can do anything. Yeah, infinites are the equivalent of legendaries, but they are special since they level up, unlocking either more powerful versions, or completly new effects. I love it. Also, leveling up infinites unlock special unique krosmic cards (purple ones, also equivalent of legendary cards since they are limited to one per deck.)

I love this game, beautiful 2D animations and really chill music. The best part are the tier 3 animation cards. Kerub, for example, summon his golden armor just like the movie:

Has anyone here ever played Dream of Mirror Online before? I just stumbled on the website and it looks amazing. It's an old MMO, has an anime aesthetic and most notably features a job-change and skill crossing system.

If any of you have played it I'd love to hear more about it, I played FFXI to death years ago and the job system seems similar.

I find Sram and Sacrier expensive to play. They are very good. Sram heavily plays mill nowadays, completly destroying the enemy deck. Blue larva is your friend with him.

Xelor require a lot of smart decisions to play, since you'll be tempted to use your extra mana the whole time. They are really entertaining, but you'll be betting a lot.

Sacrier I find easier to win with with the starter deck. Focus heavily on your guard card, that one wins games if played right. Try to get minions that do stuff when injured or dead. A chafer deck is nice, and that vampire that teleports when your minions are injured is very good. Your removal is precious (the kick) use it wisely. Barry will help you a shitton with your card draw.

All in all, don't get tilted. If you feel like having a bad streak, calm down, close the game, relax and comeback later, or tomorrow. If you aren't having fun, don't hurt yourself.

Dofus is alright I guess, I never played more than the starting zone since is p2p, but boy, that game is still popular after a million years.

Wakfu is beautiful, it had so many changes, some good, some bad, but for me, I don't get bored. 2D animation with millions of objects to collect of all kind never gets me boring. The fact that every armour piece have it's own unique 2D graphic is inspiring.

Krosmaga have gorgeous animations, excellent UI and is unique enough from other card games to make it's own niche.

There is a big, a HUGE plus to every single game of these, and that's is that everything is conected and expanded with series, ovas, a movie and comics. And the quality is great, the lore is really interesting, and the sense of adventure is great. This is why, and there is more, but yeah, you can picture it yourself. Once you get dragged into it, all the road feels so good.

It just hit me; why is there no MMO that allow me to be evil? By that I mean... as things are now, regardless if you go out and kill thousands of players via Player Killing (PK) you will remain as the hero who saves the entire world via Story progression.


Why is there no MMO that has an in-depth bad guy story line. Like, what if the only way for me to gain exp and money was to kill and steal from other players, why doesn't that exist as a fully functional MMO?


I think what I'm trying to say is, rather than being the bad guy I want to carve my own path rather being forced to be this super over powered hero.

I want to watch to world burn through my own hands. Where is that MMO?

I played it over a decade ago, I'm surprised to hear it's still around. As with a lot of the asian mmos popping up back then, it's a bit grindy, but the job system was a lot of fun, probably the best feature about it. The aesthetics were nice, characters were cute, and the writing had a lot of tongue-in-cheek comedy to it.

I don't really know how to sell it other than explaining why I like it so much. For starters it's the only game that gets what I vision as a cool female sword user right (besides Nier Automata and Bayonetta) and I DO enjoy fighting games so the combat is right up my ally. As you can see, I like fighting games and action games as well as rewarding combat. I dislike 99% of games made today because they have moved away from creating action combat with huge amounts of depth. Now we get "Press one button to do something cool" simulators and movie simulators that claim to be video games (see: The Last Of Us on PS4).

But what shocked me the most was the insane amount of waifu simulator (dress up) in a game that is entirely made in 2D. Like, this game has dress up options that rival a game like PSO2 which is easily the greatest waifu simulator every created in the history of mankind.


So, what DFO does for me is...

+ Classic Stylish Action Combat
+ A fully customizable Sword Waifu that I have visioned in my mind for many years (not to mention I get 4 different sword waifus)
+ In-depth Dress up simulator that allows me to customize the color and pieces I wear

Old Silk Road you could be pretty evil, there were some players that only played caravan raiders.

Also, Tibia before the shitty ass skulls system. I remember early on Trimera we had a literal serial killer that took the cooperation of the collective community to finally end him.

Haven & Hearth can be brutal, too, although I haven't played it since the reboot/3d engine change. But that game, with permanent death, any time you met another player, mortality came into question.

The official servers allow you to reach over 1000 levels of progress in under 20 days.

On the private server, you'd be lucky to reach 100, the exp ratios on the private server while 2x, the official hosts so many events (like the returned) along with that reworked destiny system to train at a rate 5-10x superior by comparison

Dynasty Pack or whatever the fuck that is no longer exist on the DFO client and was only made for the steam release. The price is also jacked up to 40 for reasons I don't know.

Any and every single outfit that releases can be purchased for around 10 bucks. You will only get the outfit, not the pack. The "pack" cost 30 bucks and always comes with the following:

1 Outfit
1 Creature (Pet)
1 Title
1 Weapon Skin
1 Aura
1 Misc item (depending on the pack. The current one comes with a Bead)
1 Clone Avatars set (8 pieces)

The Pack can be sold on the player shop and purchase with gold, meaning if you have enough in game currency you can get without spending real money. Also the stuff in the pack can be sold by itself, ex. the Title cost around 2 million gold right now. The Aura cost around the same too. The Weapon skin is dirt cheap because it's ugly (I guess).

First off, the developers have stated that they were inspired by Street Fighter and are fan of Street Fighter as well as 90s Capcom in general.


Second, I know this is pointless because it's obvious that you do not know Fighting Game mechanics but.... DFO has command inputs, special normals, short hops, jump/guard/dash cancelling, 1 frame links, vortexs/resets/mixups, character assist, double/triple/x jumps, inertia, and a shit ton of other shit that all was invented by people who specialize in...... Is anyone playing anything at the moment with a unique combat or skill system? I feel like every MMO I try lately is identical, quest for exp, get your 5 skills that you'll use forever, etc.

It doesn't have to be amazing but something at least different would be nice, I also miss just playing an MMO with /v/, consorting with randoms is a little exhausting.

You could try Wakfu if you enjoy FFTactics or Fire Emblem. There's no p2w but there is a month subscription to play the latest content (which always becomes free once the next update comes out). Although it has a lot of pay-for-convenience type things.

Or how about Mabinogi? There's no classes but there's a crapton of skills to make your own class. It is p2w but most things can be bought from other players. The reforges aren't a big advantage, for example if you complete a dungeon in an hour a fully reforged player might beat it in 40minutes. The art style sucks but it has a certain charm to it.

Mabinogi - infinite leveling, you can eventually learn every skill from every "class" if you wish.

DoMO - Recently brought up on here, haven't played it; it has multiple jobs, you can change when you get to town and each job has its own levels, furthermore you pick a subjob and can cross class\skills that way. Similar system to FFXI\FFXIV if you know of them.

FFXI - Many jobs, can pick a subjob for more skills, gear is incredibly varied and contributes to you customising your stats\build. Very heavy on grinding and partying though.

Neocron 2 - FPSMMO, has many different skills that level as you use them, has a similar feel to Deus EX.

Anarchy Online - Sci-fi setting, tons of skills for custom build potential.

Setting-wise these are all very different but mechanically they all have a large degree of skill customisation and build decisions. Sorry most of them are quite old, it's my only frame of reference. If you want more specifics just ask.

It isn't p2w at ALL, since you can get literally everything by playing the game. Daily gold gain by quests and winning is really nice, enough for a daily pack or 2. A random roulette can give you one of the 3 tiers of decks daily, or give you coins/crafting fragments. Legendary cards can be gotten yes or yes by buying an expensive class of pack. No it's not, I started with nothing, and got rank 27 on the first season. I just started on December, I play everyday and have now like 20 infinites, 4 on lvl 5. If I were to have EVERYTHING from the start I would be dead bored. Having goals, lvl up cards, still collecting cards for that unique deck is goddamn fun. This is how you play these games, not going straight to the winning/1337 decks. Sheesh.

While I agree with you about this, on the flip side, using "it's play to win" as an end-all complaint isn't necessarily accurate either, as not everyone seeks out games to be #1 e-leet player in it, or take the competition all that seriously (MMOs will always be garbage, hell any multiplayer game that isn't on a local network setting is bullshit as far as competitveness goes).

Endless Online. Yeah, I started in v.15 and it wasn't anything more than a graphical chatroom at best. Combat and eventually quests got added later on. Community is still alive and divided between a few different private servers somehow.

Oh ffs, I though the dungeons were too easy at first, but fucking tier 2 is way too difficult to beat. I breezed though 1 with Cra, but I can't beat the second dungeon. The 7mana limit hurts, but the worse one by far is 3 cost 3 damage all enemies spell that he spams. And WORSE, he recovers every single card he uses. Way too broken.
