Okay so after using vortex to level my characters I was thinking wow this is taking forever so I decided to do the math to see how long theoretically it would take to get a unit to max level.

Say if you got a 5 star character level 1, to get it to 6 star max level it would require 3,131,324 exp. (using tier 4 5 star and tier 6 6 star growth)

Common methods to get exp.
Metal Gigantaurs *from events (30,000 XP)
ADV vortex (15 NRG / 31,000 XP)
Maranda Coast (12 NRG / 60,064 XP)
Timber Tracks (8 NRG / 66,900 XP)

Method 1 (Gigantaurs) no bonus: 104.377 gigantaurs required costing 641.56 NRG

(can be greatly reduced with bonus units/encountering bonus monsters/fusion bonus making this the BEST METHOD to get exp)

Mana mystery w.o bonuses averaged 211.5 currency or 2.115 Gigantaurs for 63,450 XP for 13 NRG.

Method 2 (Vortex) : 101.01 runs costing 1515 NRG

Method 3 (Maranda Coast) : 52.133 runs costing 625.59 NRG

Method 4 (Timber Tracks): 46.80 runs costing 374.45 NRG

288 NRG in a day. So all of these methods will take longer than a day.

The worst method being the vortex which would take over 5 days to get your unit to max level. That's if you either had a macro going all the time or stayed up 24/7 never letting your energy go over.

TLDR: All the leveling methods suck except for gigantaurs from the events when you have bonus mobs and bonus units.

The EXP vortex is the easiest thing to clear and can grab you gluts of EXP to level your units which is very important for early game. Heck the 30K EXP from the ADV EXP vortex is pretty easy with a good magefriend unit. Just remember to solo level units.

I have a 600+MAG Dark Fina that can manhandle that with ease as a friend unit. Not to mention that with Ramuh she gets access to Thundara to basically one shot all four battles and still have MP.

Someone else mentioned it, but it's not that the OSBs suck. They are really useful as long as you can hit a weakness, and can generally do at least as much damage as a BSB over time as long as you are using wrath/lifesiphon. The lack of any other effects like buffs/debuffs or other stat boosts makes BSBs better in more situations.

Stacking breaks helps, but not having a native wall is rough since it running out after your 2nd use can really screw you. Irvine and Mustadio's multbreaks stack with normal Full Break and the breakdowns, so that's a different if rarer option. What kind of healing or defensive options do you have soul break-wise?

So say you don't hit him with water: He rapes your face.
If you don't hit him with wind: He rapes your ass

The best way to limit rape is to hit him with every single element every single turn. The only ones he doesn't care about are dark, ice, and thunder. Otherwise you need full coverage.

The real problem is that you need redundancy. You can't just have one copy of each element, because what happens when he uses his instadeath?
If Rain is your only source of Holy/Fire/Earth/Wind, your whole team gets wiped the second he dies (even if you revive him he can't move until the next turn).

Nig don't lie, you're just trying not to say you are parroting what other people said. The game looks great in pretty much every way. The thing that makes the game shit is the characters which you wouldn't even really know about if you haven't played it.

That said, the characters are really shitty but if you can bear with it, it's definitely still worth playing. The story isn't the best but it has some good moments, the world and the monsters all look really cool especially when you get to gran pulse, and the music is also really nice.

Again, the story and the characters are truly the weakest point and some others may dump on the gameplay as well but I still think it's worth experiencing even if you don't like it. In my opinion, even as what's one of if not the worst FF games it's still really solid as you can't really say any of the core games are actually bad.
