So I'm trying to breed an invincible Morgan (probably Grandmaster) with Galeforce, Counter, Tome and Bow Breaker, and Armsthrift. If I make my Robin +Speed -Defense and marry Maribelle/Anna, Morgan will have the 50 luck for Armsthrift without Limit Breaker. The question is: will the -Defense from Robin ruin Morgan's defensive ability?

I had a mom daughter pair where Cordelia and Severa could travel across the map in one turn with Galeforce. Hell, I had my Tharja/Robin lesbian meme team have the same gale force combo and I could nearly one turn maps.

Best units for maingame are largely irrelevant since you can clear the game with one good pair for the most part, but Chrom is useful to train for needing him every story map and having an infinite use weapon, reclassing Frederick down to Wyvern Knight after grabbing Luna is handy for getting him more skills and faster level ups, Cordelia and Lonk are among your better physical units and Miriel and Tharja have Sorc access and passable magic so they're among your better mages, though both healers can go Dark Flier and grab Galeforce to use in other classes if desired so they're not too shabby either.

Sumia is fast but if she gets crappy level ups she might end up as pairup fodder, Gaius has thief utility so it won't hurt to use him, Kellam has an interesting set of opposing classes and Henry probably does better as something besides a mage. The usefulness of dancing in this game is limited since most of the better pairs of units are suited to slaughtering droves of enemies on enemy phase, but Olivia's really useful in combat with her other class sets at least.

The other prepromotes and dragons are all okay as well, most of the rest of the first gens are niche specific or breeding fodder.

For main game Morgan, Lucina, and Severa are almost always useful even if promoted immediately, the others can vary heavily in utilitiy depending on their parents. Inigo at least always inherits a useful class set and can get Galeforce from his mom, so he's not too far off from those first three in usefulness if you plan accordingly.

Pretty much this. The "best" strategy is to use ONLY FeMU (paired with Chrom) and Morgan (paried with Lucina). Everyone else is a liability and you have to make a tradeoff between actual efficiency and using more units for the sake of pretending the game isn't terribly designed .

I like seeing my Sheena have prolonged brawls with enemy Effies. Seeing two pink armored units beat the shit out of each other has a unique appeal to it.
