Quick question for you all
When you make a new world do you keep to a theme for your buildings or even stick with it all the way through the game? At the current moment in the multiplayer world it's mainly the usual wood/stone with dynasty because I got those early on. Torn between updating the current buildings to a granite/marble 'clean space age' look or make a new base to house all the NPCs which includes teleporters for transport.

Last time I tried to keep to a theme I actually stopped playing for a while because I'm garbage at building and I hit a brick wall for coming up with ideas.

Hmm when that happens I usually take a break or talk to some of my friends about ideas or requests since they have an idea for their theme for the character so I have something to work with.
For example one of them asked for a mage tower but kept the thunder bird (mod) boss mask so I know what the roof would have a nest area with open windows to fly in. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done.
My main problem is the 'community' areas with the crafting stations/chest/boss arena. Really don't like making it out of wood shelves and dirt background if underground.
