Given the final products don't have snow I imagine the "snowclod" is a material because it has some kind of special fur on its legs and tail that clump snow together protectively, which would explain why it has a behaviour where its specifically blows snow on itself to cover its legs if the snow gets knocked off. Don't lie. HH is far, far in the back of solo speedruns. If played correctly it's some of the best value for a player slot online, though.

The reason people say "it's not a support weapon" is that if you say it is a support weapon you get retards corner horning, making the monster behave erratically so nobody can do shit, and because in order to actually BE that effective online HH has to both contribute massive damage modifiers to everyone else AND its own paltry damage, on top of making huge openings from KO, exhaust and utility songs like HGE and WR. It's still a support weapon, it's just a support weapon you use by staying up in the monster's face and hitting it until it dies.

The solo times are usually technically viable (it's probably not possible to solo everything with at least in it in gen because of inflated health values and loads of 5 monster quests, I watched cantaperme play extremely well and time out the five kings of destruction halfway through jho the other day) but "acceptable" varies from person to person, and someone used to getting 5-10 minutes on everything with bow might not find 25 minutes with a horn acceptable.

Also white buffed IG runs as fast as HH and haste rain bow and charging lance are both faster (sprinting speed) and in XX brave HBG and DB are gonna be extremely fast as well.

Basically the tl;dr is that this isn't 3U anymore, and very little of what you said has applied since 3U.

GL is still the worst weapon (HH is an online weapon post-3U), with the widest margin between the next-worst weapon and it, and the next-worst weapon is PROWLER, the new jokey semi-support weapon that's not supposed to be strong in exchange for being tough to die as and casual for resource gathering. GL is no better in Gen than in 4U, if anything relative to everything else it's worse because SA isn't just as bad anymore. Unless shells change to scaling on raw instead of "levels" that are outpaced by monster health brave is likely to make GL climb a few ranks, but it's still going to be low-tier and an offline-only weapon to boot.

The overall trend persists in regular TAs (of which there weren't that many with all or most weapons, which is why they were rarely sampled for tier lists like these) but the differences are that regular quests have much shorter times, and you see more elemental/status weapons where many weapons that wouldn't otherwise use raw for apexes or instead of status since status is less effective over a four million HP hunt.

Bow is historically bad and requires a very specific set of skills to be adequate. It needed power shots in 4U just to compete with other weapon types, and then power shots given to /every/ bow in Gen on top of that.

The best bow speedrun against the dread raths in X needs a very rare max value charm to get all the buff skills to make it TA competitive - where even 1 less skill or downgraded skill would render it far less useful. Even then, you need mega dash juices and combines for ammo coatings. Surely there will be more lenient ways of getting great bow skills in XX (surely, right?), but it'll still consume a large amount of resources for constant megadashes and ammo combines. There is just too much pre-planning and overhead for bow to make it fun to pick-up-and-play like every other weapon type.

This is all not taking into consideration that 1 blast bow in the past two games that has been way OP even above and beyond other weapon types. Capcom really needs to strike a middle ground between overhead,planning and not making an OP bow accidentally. Like i don't want to have to see people picking bow, look at their skills, see junk, and know they're going to be least helpful person for the entire hunt. It needs to mesh well with the rest of the game and it doesn't do that as of X/Gen.

GL is played wrong in gen by TA's, and the majority of damage comes from adept parrying- so there is a lot of down time waiting around for the monster to attack cause nothing cancels into parrying so you can't be caught doing something else than being idle.

Gunlance got a raw deal in gen but playing to its strengths with fullbursts is how it was meant to be played per the hunter arts it got. Seriously better off guarding and maybe getting knocked once or twice from over-extending to constantly attack and burst than waiting around with all the AuL skills for when the monster will attack, doing little inbetween.

That's everyone's first experience with bow, except sometimes the game and/or monster is different. It's not because the weapon is weak, it's because you were a retard who didn't know about coatings, critical distance, [shot type] up, shot weakpoints being different from cutting ones and actually important when you aren't using elemental or pierce ammo, that charge time doesn't just change shot type but has an actual damage multiplier so you shouldn't just spam arrows and waste coatings, that you could use arc shots to hit things like duramboros's hump easily, etc.

Not him, but it's not the speedrunners fault that the most optimal way to deal damage is by adept counter. In Gen Capcom finally takes notice that the shelling part is lacking, and added more options to use shelling instead of as a combo extender. Too bad crit boost exists, making the regular pokes playstyle better (again). I hope they balance them more in XX.

For instance bow and DB had both some of the best and some of the worst times in 4U, so for a long time they were both midtier in average times. Later DB got more really good matchups while bow still had about half and half, so DB climbed a few ranks.

Brave GL gets a big boost to fullburst usage and it has a fucking guard point, like you're kinda retarded if you think idling for adept parries is going to be great still. Brave GL is actually what Adept GL should have been from the getgo based solely on the guard point alone.

We're saying the fact that brave GL is getting better times in the demo, which is low-rank (where GL has always been at its strongest) and has no skills (which are just like a 15-20% damage bonus on most weapons but are more like a 50-80% bonus on a few) and is only against three monster species, one of which, which happens to be the one being compared, has shitty raw hitzones (the demo has no elemental weapons, and GL has non-raw damage from its shells, making it a better matchup for GL if one of the rules is no elemental or status weapons), does not mean GL has necessarily gotten better relative to other weapons overall.

If you're really into GL I'm happy for you that it finally has a fun, fluid style, but I doubt it's going to climb to top-tier, if it climbs at all.

Even if there was no stronger version of Dragon's Breath in XX and no higher shot level than 5 as we already have in Gen, the benefit of quicker fullbursts and more ways to get into fullbursts thanks to being able to combo into a guard point could match even 300+ purple sharpness GS setups - but this great boost is conditionally locked behind Brave mode being triggered.

GL will be balanced to the other weapon types, man. Just cause it hasn't historically been in the past couple of games doesn't mean it wont be, especially when it already is.

Obviously I'm exaggerating a little, some glitches are fun to watch and some speedruns are actually just using movement tech to complete the game really fast as intended, meaning they are functionally identical to what I described preferring.

But in a similar vein, except for the rare instances where they end up being the same thing, I prefer watching ROMAN MAD to watching TA, and prefer the feeling of doing something amazing like spirit roundslashing a swooping dragon out of the air to the feeling of seeing that I killed a dragon in only three minutes.

Adept Lance was the most used style before people found out about Striker's charge spam and easily contended with the upper tiers. I assume development on XX and the balance changes were done before Striker got popular, hence the lack of a meaningful nerf to the charge spam. They nerfed everything that was topping the charts in the first 1-2 months, not what's actually too good.

Adept Lance was in the top 3 for weeks due to its ease of use and crazy burst damage, and it's still one of the better weapons, just not as good as Striker.

If you're playing Gen there's not much difference. The fov is shit so the 3d effect is very shallow, meaning it's not useful for gauging distances and you need to angle the camera slightly to see where you're hitting, and gen doesn't use the new3ds's hardware anyway, so you might as well be playing it on 2ds. For 4U I'd recommend against it, 3D helps a lot and the game runs at or slightly below 60 fps with much better graphics on the new3ds.

Incorrect. It actually deals a fair bit of damage (nothing too impressive) but attacks way too slowly to be a competitive weapon in its own right, it gets times roughly the same or even worse than HH. It's actually solid against monsters that are far weaker to element than to raw (eg gravios and chameleos) because it has hugely inflated elemental values (a max element bug's elemental strength is on par, iirc with a 2500 element weapon, or 250 true element). There's plenty of kinsect-only gimmick runs you can find videos of to demonstrate that it deals damage.

It's also worth noting that it's the kinsect's base raw that is low, its motion values are actually quite high. It would be a seriously viable weapon if its raw matched actual weapons, and it's very good for breaking frenzy.

Something I've noticed being in both the Monster Hunter and Dark Souls communities is that people who use strong, boring weapons in Dark Souls are called shitters and people who use weak, interesting weapons in Monster Hunter are called shitters. Only in NG+. The game is mostly good about not giving you things that trivialise it as you progress through NG, or if it does, making them clever little secrets to beat bosses with that have little to do with the build you're using. Anyway, people almost entirely talk about shitters in reference to pvp in dark souls. A shitter is someone who wears the highest-poise armour with a ring or chestpiece that negates backstabs and the best shield for parrying (which they usually spam trying to get a parry) and the ring of fap/third dragon ring and use a katana since you get really good dps with it and staggerlock most players by just pressing r1 over and over and then they get beaten because anyone who isn't an idiot just parries them or waits for them to run out of stamina trying to parry or whips out a catalyst and uses force to push them off a cliff.

Most of /mhg/ would be on it if /mhg/ weren't so dead that that would practically guarantee I could never find a hall. But at this point I see very few bad randoms. When I meet a random who's actually good and sends me a friend req I accept it, and they usually end up joining halls I'm in later on, as well. At this point I have a reasonable circle of "friends" I hunt with that are several cuts above /mhg/ and have never talked to and do not know whatsoever outside of the game.

Around a launch I'd probably take /mhg/ over randoms though, at least then I'm learning the new ropes with people I sort-of know and if we're shit we can all be reasonably certain it's not because none of us have ever played the game or understand its basics but because we're all trying to learn the new shit.

It's funny because the GSer carted twice against the Garuga and blamed me because I didn't have the damn NS song. Even funnier, every single time he carted, he was trying to Charge against the Garuga's scream (Which he could go through thanks to my song), and got poison in the face.

The problem with the demo is if you don't lock a monster the fuck down and kill it before it limps, it's going to zone a minimum of two times before you can actually fight it again which will tack on a solid minute to whatever time it took you to get it to 10%.

It's absolutely mind boggling they decided to make monsters zone fourteen times as often, but still retain invincibility.

You may be surprised to know that +15 skill 3slot amulets often just aren't possible without hacking.
