Multiplayer is fun. Game has enough depth to be interesting. 12 characters and the promise of more free ones down the line.

Single Player is... decent? It's a pretty garbage story that has your character at the very end announce the villains goal like it's some sort of revelation, when she's been monologue-ing about it for the entire game. Actual gameplay is alright, and it has some fun optional large scale battles that you wouldn't be able to do in multiplayer.

Anyone else getting hardcore input lag randomly?
Like I'll throw someone to the ground, and then have to right click like three times before I will actually do a heavy attack. There's other examples but that's the one that stands out the most to me. It also doesn't seem to be a problem when I am solo against bots.
Also, I keep having people block my attacks immediately after getting parried and it's driving me fucking crazy. That and getting thrown off of ledges after not teching a GB when I know I timed it right.

Part of me thinks the game changed design direction part way in. Because some characters feel fluid and work perfectly well in 1v1 and 2v2 mode, while others seem built around tossing people off of ledges.

Knights are loosing becuase they were winning last round, it's how this shitty system works for some reason. The loosing factions get a bunch of pitty points. It's called a mordhau or "murder stroke." It's a way of using the sword as a makeshift club because edged weapons are pretty godawful against plate.

You can even do it barehanded because swords need motion to cut. As long as your grip is firm and the blade doesn't slide, it can't cut you.

There is a related technique that Warden also uses, called half-swording, where the user grabs the blade with one hand, keeping the other on the hilt, to improve the precision of a thrust.

Yes. A blade requires motion to cut, so holding it like that is fine if you keep a good enough grip as not to let it slide.

Half Swording and Mordhau both come from having to battle plate armor. You cant cut through plate, so a sharp edge does you very little. This leaves two options:

Half Swording is when you grab the sword by the blade with your off hand to have better control with thrusting, so you can aim for the gaps in the armor near joints. Warden half swords when killing minions, where he kinda shovels one over his shoulder.

Mordhau is where you flip the sword over and use it like an improvised hammer, striking with the hilt and pommel to dent armor. Warden does this in his Hilt Strike execution.

If you do both side lights on the same side, the second one is guaranteed to hit.
You should also follow them up with a bash at least once unless you're sure the enemy will dodge, because it gives you another opportunity for easy hits and drains their stamina.

Ring outs have existed, yes. But it's a bit different since those stages were always either a giant square or circle where at the very edge you were at risk.

On top of that it was generally much harder, either requiring a grab or some ability to knock them up and back to get them out, where as in for honor it's a guard break or getting smacked if you are too close and you are out.

It also is much, much easier to simply wait near ledges and force your opponent to fight you in shitty locations where the fight inevitably is just going to come down to who tosses who off the cliff first.

Is there some fucking perk in elimination that gives people infinite stamina or some shit? I just played against a beserker who had a powerup and he never fucking stop hitting. It was basically a never ending fucking combo from all directions, there had to be at least fucking ten swings that were completely full speed even though I was blocking

You know, its not that I hate the throw system in concept, you need that sort of thing for blockers, but I didn't expect the entirety of combat to focus around guard breaking. Why does my character even carry a sword at this point. The window is so unforgiving it feels like a 50/50 every time. I'm so hyper focused on the guard break I forget characters can even do combos in this game.

Just used my roach to beat a Lawbringer and he ragequit after his third loss. Bot comes in but the duel is over, and I still get my 200xp match completion but no performance bonus.

Whoever decided these power ups and feats were a good idea should be given a fucking execution. There is 0 point to playing anything other then an assassin because people WILL run and grab power ups and leave you in the dust if you are any slower. By the time you actually reach your team mates they are all dead after being gang banged.

The moment they start losing they book it and grab movement, soon grabbing every god damn power up on the map. It's infuriating because there is nothing you can do about it, just running to the closest team mate and hoping he's in a good shape to survive.
