To be fair, a large majority are originally from our own thread, /mabigen/, from several years back. When that died off due to lack of interest, we just stuck together as our own little circlejerk but had the guild open still.

/mmog/ happened maybe a few months ago, I stated that we're the /vg/ guild of the dead game because you guys listed Mabinogi in the pastebin with no guild.

The most populated places in most MMOs are the starting zones and endgame. Obviously you could do something fun like allowing higher level players to mentor lower level players, dropping thenselves to the other players level+1, or the other way around going up to mentor level-1 so people can play together easier.

Random ancient screenshot from last day of Priston Tale open beta. I can't even remember the server name i played at, was playing Knight named Arislan in clan called RogueAvenger but i quit in like 2004 was it when beta ended because i was 16 and didn't have access to credit card.

we have a mabinogi private server launching right now up to g13. Yeah, I know, G13, the start of the cancer of Mabinogi.
But hey, we're trying to make things a bit better.

Some noticeable things about this server is that
*It's in Japanese, but we're slowly translating things back to English.
*Build on a nostalgic community with experienced technical creators
*We added a Collective system where players would have to kill mobs to grab coins in exchange for pets
*13 Day rebirthing system
* "OW" PVP Channel (It's actually just 1 map, but hey free-for-all)
* We even coded our own shadow mission for the first time in a matter of 3 days. What the fuck?
*Rafting actually works.

I don't have very high standards where it comes to these games, I played fucking Ragnarok 2 for MONTHS and got multiple characters to max level even though it was a soulless WoW clone with almost nothing in common with the original game.. but I had fun the whole way through.

Well, after trying both official and yours, I've gotta say that I like the controls of official better. WASD is far superior to this left click to move bullshit. Using number keys instead of function keys as my primary means of attacking is nice too, especially since I can do both.

Why start at G13 instead of rip what you can from the current servers?

its fun at the earlier stages. figuring out your character and their strength/combos, customizing your gear and costumes, playing arena competitively or with a friend

the problem is the endgame when there's nothing to do but grind the same dungeons because you've already obtained everything. pvp also becomes more p2w at the higher ranks as damage creep scales at a ridiculous pace. everything wrong with elsword starts at the end areas of the game. you'll either get bored of the same dungeons, struggle to gear yourself for pvp, or lack the currency to properly outfit yourself with endgame gear, costumes, and accessories

It mostly is, everything is in clusters. So you know the Sword area is there, the Mace area is there, and ect. The big challenge is to find the roads that lead to what you want without doing too many useless nodes. Since everything is linked to your starting area, this mean that you need to find the best path for your build.

You could honestly refluff everything to fantasy and it would be mostly the same, but it has cool guns as weapon trees. 3 guns, 3 weapons, 3 magic. Make a build from 2 weapons with active and passive skills. One fun thing is you can do is use any passive skill regardless if what weapons you're using.

Also all gear is like little occult trinkets and stuff, you don't see them on you so you can wear whatever clothing outfits you want.

Also there's an in game browser, and your character gets cell phone calls. That's most of the modern stuff.

The community isn't dead too, at least on the Daemon server I use.

nah it's not hard to train, just saying low rank WM is hard to use in battle and I could see why it feels off-putting for players. By "sometimes enemies tank through it" I mean they attack you right through fully loaded defensive WM.
