ZIf you want more diverse teams, whether it's for different team comps or for different waifu teams, I'd recommend going 3 to 4*

The stat gains from 4 to 5 are good and all, but the biggest thing is the abilities they get. Characters like Catria and Femui are great options to 5* over someone like Nowi because Nowi has all of her abilities available at 4 except for her upgraded Counterattack which only gets a +4might. Where Catria's and Femui's 5* gives them +2 to their already nice debuffing abilities. Someone like Shareena is a great option to featherup because she gets a huge -4atk to nearby enemies and she's bestgirl

Investment has nothing to do with potential. The fact is that Sharena, Objectively, brings better numbers to the table than Cordelia's bravelance. With Good placement, Sharena can easily bring down a total of -12 to -16 atk on the opposing force for multiple turns and has the def and res to sacrifice herself if needed to keep those debuffs up. In a meta dominated by multi turns Tacos and Hector, those debuff numbers are too nice. Cordelia is still probably overall a better single unit, but Sharena's utility should not be overlooked.

You'd have to upgrade Cecilia to 4* to use her, and that takes forever unless you sacrifice stars.

Wrys and Lissa are good to go straight away with Reconcile+Imbue, and Felicia is needed for a quest.
