That's what GS (predating gen) and aerial style are both like, and that's aerial GS so it's exponentially worse (most aerial styles at least get two aerial attacks, non-aerial GS gets moves to link charges together and a second type of charge you can combo into, but aerial GS is literally just one aerial charge move and you can't charge without being in the air). Mostly it's down to GS being a badly designed weapon. That's not even dominant strategy, aerial style for most weaps including GS is weak as fuck.

Well, I finally managed to get a working battery for my XL, after not playing any monster hunter for close to a half a year, buy generations, and 2 quests into 5* quests, the joystick pad falls off. It's a simple fix, but I gotta wait a bit til I can buy some glue.

Either don't charge if you're online unless you have a big opening, or if you're offline, where the weapon is at its best, just stand like 60 degrees to the monster's left or right and start charging. Almost every monster will turn into your attack (assuming you have focus) for a perfect level 3 on the head, level 2 for some monsters. It's the easiest and simplest weapon to use, but I agree that it's not fun.

Simplest way is to attack a different part of the monster. Note that your spirit combo has a huge aoe and only one attack in it isn't likely to hit most monsters on the outer edge to either side of you, meaning, a little counterintuitively, that to avoid tripping people you may want to aim AWAY from the monster when attacking it. The final roundslash in particular extends behind you, its hitbox is insane.

Also learn which weapons generally have poise and which don't, and try to attack close to those that do. It is both your responsibility to not be a dick to lances, snses and hammers and their responsibility to not run right in front of you while you're already attacking- It's not always your fault when you trip someone. (Plus now with adept style friendly fire can be turned into an advantage.)

Really the truly bad things to be hit by are ones that don't trip but stagger and stagger lock you (in other words DB and LBG, especially pellet LBG) and those that launch you (HH and hammer superpounds, any GL shell, GS x+a, SA axe mode x+a, CB axe mode standing x, lance charge, etc). LS has none of the above, and if someone gets stuck in the middle of your spirit combo it might be hard for them to regain their footing for a couple of seconds but they have iframes from tripping during that time and they'll get an opening to run out pretty fast since the combo is short, unlike with SA stamina slashes for instance which are infinite. I never worry about seeing a LS in a hall, but I'm a little wary of IGs and very wary of SAs and GLs.

It's still a super fun and challenging weapon, Aerial and Adept are both great. If anything, the general trend of quickening monsters has made the boxing match feel of hammer play feel even better in your hands.

But compared to the cold, easy efficiency of something like Bow of Light & Casual or adept nearly anything, trying to line up golfswings really pitters out when it comes to clear times.

press x and a to make your bar bigger

dont press a more than once or x more than twice in a row, they cant combo that way

get the bar all the way up for a temporary huge 13% attack buff

press r for a combo of more powerful attacks, this is the main way you actually do damage

press r enough times and you do a big round slash that sheathes your sword, you want to do this three times to get your gauge red for a 20% boost on top of your 13% boost and then again when it goes yellow/is about to go yellow

you can also mix x in between all the r attacks if you have a big enough opening, this keeps your gauge up

and most importantly, press x+a after any attack except the final r roundslash or itself to do an attacking backstep called a fade slash. has no iframes but it's excellent for repositioning, and you can hold left or right to do it in that direction. after the fade slash if you press r you do a fast spirit attack while stepping forward, which you can aim anywhere in about 180 degrees, follow through with another r or an x then an r, then fade slash again. this is your bread and butter once you hit red, lets you dance around the monster while doing high damage and keeping your gauge close to full.

If your main experience is 4U/Gen, then it's a pretty big shock to the system, since even low and high rank monsters have a bigger punch than what you'd expect.

Still not really sure why you're getting stunned since he doesn't have any direct KO attacks except his into rage roar if you get directly in front of him since you get double tapped. You can cut him down pretty easily with an ice weapon since the fight is entirely in rage mode and he's got ridiculous hitzones then (80 cutting on the belly + 45 Ice).

It's always tough at first, but there's usually a trick or two to learn to give you the edge on monsters.

The MV of the following attack isn't based on the attack blocked, at least for Extreme style.
You get the choice between a vertical slice like in the webm with 200 MV, a much faster horizontal slice with 125 MV, or simply rolling out of it.

The real trick is that after 3+ blocks you can go into the "Shining Sword" attack which is basically a huge single hit followed up by a ton of smaller ones. It's a large amount of time but the total damage is something around 455 MV in the end.

With the new HR system it's HR 1-2 being low, 3-4 being high, and 5-6 being Gou/Supremacy.
They fast tracked ranking up to G with the change, it only takes around 30-ish quests if you do nothing but keys and urgents.

As for G rank Rusted Kush, it should be possible but I remember him being a real beast so it'll take quite a bit to do enough before he just repels.

try dual blades if you haven't already, they're a completely different experience to mainline DBs.

also, it's easy to tell what ammo you are using with bowguns because of how they are automatically sorted, maximum shot counts, etc. only bring your main shots and you shouldn't have any problems.

personally i'm not a fan of frontier LBG because of the quicktime shots, but HBG is pretty fun.

Hey everybody, I come from past, the land when Hammers like Khezu Thunder and Magnitude sported insane powers not reached by any other weapon. Now I'm looking at best hammers and see their power is on par with Bow.

What the hell happened here? I want to play some MHGen, but should I just switch to another weapon? What's the point of playing hammer when I can see a bow that has similar power.

UltimateLaoShanCan (w/ power barrel) 480(540) -> 320/360
*HBG is a special case. It's the only weapon that actually uses display raw for something, that being when calculating the power of the basic raw shots (normal/pierce/pellet).

It really doesn't anon, it may be higher resolution but the shaders and shadows are terrible
