Yeah but the fun is seeing what kind of shenanigans you can get away with before you get banned. And really, the answer is a lot. The official forums are so much better than Reddit mostly because they're an actual forum conducive to discussion and not bullshit where you can quash opinions you don't like by downvoting them and rendering them less/not visible, and responding to the aforementioned threads asking for stupid shit is fun and easy. There's an undercurrent of right-minded folks who hate the hugboxy shit too, and that's something you just have to tap into when you post.

In short, just call them stupid dumb assholes as politely as you can. The post I was banned for (aka the only one deleted by staff) had 58 likes before it went away. Doesn't sound like a hugbox to me, given that it was the most-voted-on post in the thread.

All gear is a stat weight only so you focus on your best stats. One character can be all classes no restrictions. To unlock advanced jobs like Gladiator into Paladin you'll need to level another required class to 15 like conjurer as well as reaching level 30 on your class.

the only cross class ability you need is Provoke from Gladiator, acquired at level 22(?). cross class abilities are going to change in Stormblood, so it's very likely you won't even need to level Gladiator for Provoke in the future.

I'm fairly sure BRD is stronger, as in I've played with good ranged who play both and they tell me brd is stronger in pvp, mostly because mch can get screwed very hard by a healer and be useless for a longer amount of time though their burst is impressive, but that's what I'm inferring from what they tell me

In personal experience though, BRD also does a lot more shit than MCH from everything I've seen, I don't feast quite as much so I'm mostly talking frontlines

I think all the dps are playable but SMN is alone at the top, especially if you're solo, with maybe MNK matching it when they have pocket healers, you can't play the melee in frontlines without having at least one healer behind you and expect above average success participating in fights. Once you get battle high and fever rolling in frontlines, having great sustained damage beats out having burstier damage.
